philamom Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Thanks for posting these articles! This is something we are starting to look into. Our DAN doc mentioned it and I brought it up at our last LLMD appt, but it was sort of glossed over with no real plan for looking into it. So I'm going back to the DAN doc on Monday to see if he will do the testing and oversee any treatment needed. I'm curious if anyone knows why you need to test for HPL and not just look for B6, zinc and other deficiencies. Also, do these things need to be supplemented indefinitely, or does everything balance out and start working properly once the chronic lyme and metal toxicity have been taken care of? Thanks again for posting about this. My gut feeling is this may be a missing piece of the puzzle for us, and possibly many others on this forum. I'm also interested in knowing this. My daughter's recent blood tests showed normal levels of zinc, magnesium, B-12 (didn't check b-6 though).

My daughter's recent blood tests showed normal levels of zinc, magnesium, B-12 (didn't check b-6 though). The answer is touched upon @ the 20-25 min mark of the video and more specifically addressed @ the 40-50 min mark. Apparently, the blood cells many only show deficiencies as the situation become severe, but the rest of the body may be deficient before that. The test isn't testing urine for minerals but for something else in the urine that reflects an abnormal heme (blood) process. It's a 2 hr video, so I kept putting it off. Having to pause it a lot with kids under foot, but am finding it very helpful and interesting. He also gets into mold @ the 40 min mark and feels mold/kpu/lyme/emf's are often intertwined in chronic illnesses. A perfect storm sort of thing. We're doing the KPU test next week (need to stop all supplements and vitamins for a week first) and I bought a $10 mold test kit from the hardware store. The video is helping me make sense of it all. smartyjones Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 (edited) Yes, over the last couple of weeks we did ART or similar testing with older DS, DH and myself which showed KPU for myself and DS. We did not do the urine test. I've got some of the classic symptoms. wendy -- how did you test for this via ART? was there a particular vial or did you test deficient in all the individual minerals and vitamins? thanks. JuliaFaith Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 I bought a $10 mold test kit from the hardware store. The video is helping me make sense of it all. We used the mold test kits as well and did about 4-5 of them thruout the house. We sent in the only one that showed 3 spores to have it tested. Now, looking back after ERMI testing, it was right on we just did not believe there was much to be concerned about...not!
sf_mom Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 Tested for the mineral deficiency.... specifically 'CORE'. Something is currently helping especially with dark circle under eyes, yellowing of eyes and mood but we made a lot of changes recently: antibiotics (Liver didn't like Biaxin), treating KPU, herbs, change in anti-viral protocol, heavy liver detox, etc. It hard to say what is helping. He is still positive for: Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, XMRV via ART.
smartyjones Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Tested for the mineral deficiency.... specifically 'CORE'. thanks. and sorry . . . i'm just trying to make sure i have it straight -- ds9 has appt tomorrow and i wanted to discuss this. CORE is the supplemental product, right? so, you tested with that and his body said he needed it? thanks again. i know -- in an ideal world, you do one thing at a time to make sure you could draw correct correlations. in the real world, you do what may help!
sf_mom Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 Yes, we tested with the supplement Core and Yes, his body needed it. Zinc is a huge component of Core. If you do not have the supplement available for tomorrow I am positive your Dr. might have Zinc. -Wendy
