susie Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 I've read here that some are taking a cup of bentonite per day. Is that a cup of the liquid stuff? I have the powder from biopure and have no idea how that might equate. What brand is everyone else using? Does a cup cause constipation? Is anyone using chlorella as a binder? If so, do you know if it will bind up meds and supplements too?
justinekno Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) Good questions. We will be starting the clay this week although I was under the impression the clay acts as a binder so we wouldn't need chlorella too? I am assuming if it works the same way as the Cholestyramine then you would need to give it at least 1 hour from supplements or antibiotics. philamom Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Great Plains bentonite clay for dd. I was directed to take the chlorella at breakfast & dinner with other supplements (for myself).
JuliaFaith Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 DS was taking the PioPure clay 1 tsp in the morning with liquid and one right before bed. He is now taking the chlorella and not the clay. He was instructed to take 15 min. before eating, 3 times a day (20 tabs - PioPure Chloella Vulgaris-for heavy detox).

That's a total of 20 tabs daily, correct?
justinekno Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) I'm just curious, did you stop the clay because it wasn't helpful? You may want to start at a lower level until talking to your LLMD.

You may want to start at a lower level until talking to your LLMD. After starting dd9 on Chlorella, she is (I think) detoxing and I'm glad I started her on 800 mg a day (that is 2 caps of the brand we are using). She got a very bad cankersore, increased senstivitiy to clothes (she felt they were sharp against her skin), very annoyed and irritated, maybe some other symptoms. I'm assuming this is good detox. I am thinking of switching to th biopure since this seems to be working for her maybe we need a better product to really hit this out of the park. How do they taste since they are tablets? One thing is that she is so tired of taking pills, I hate to increase it. Also, Regarding the clay, should that be taken away from all supplements and probiotics? I'm finding it hard to find a time to give it to dd8. Susan
JuliaFaith Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Susan: My son has been complaining about the taste of the Chlorella tabs.

I'm taking 6 BioPure Chlorella Pyrenoidosa with breakfast, lunch and dinner - 18 total. I have no problems with the taste, but then again I don't have issues with swallowing pills. I take them with a green smoothie that taste like kiwi & apples. They are very small tabs. Edited May 25, 2011 by philamom

Douglas labs makes a product with both bentonite and Lactobacillus together, so if you trust this company, then that's a good clue that it's OK. I don't really know about the supplements, but I was told to separate those from the clay.
