MichaelTampa Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 This came up just a week or so ago, someone posted they got CD57 from Quest, and I know I said that Quest doesn't have one. I am sure it had been that way a while. But, at the LLMD this afternoon, we are doing bloodwork including CD57, and the nurse is filling out the form for Quest. They are just more familiar with Quest there and like to use those forms. She changed it to LabCorp for me, LabCorp is just more convenient anyway. But, when I explained Quest doesn't have CD57, she said they do now, recently added it. So, maybe Quest does have the CD57 now...
kmom Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Wow! That is probably a really recent change. A few months back in Nov., Quest didn't provide that one crucial value and we had to redo test thru Lapcorp. Glad Quest is getting on board!
pixiesmommy Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Our LLMD said CD57 is useless for children. I don't know much about it personally.
Priscilla Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I am the one that got the Quest CD57 for my dd. As I did more digging, it seems not all Quest labs do it, but the one in San Juan Capistrano does (close to us, this is where ours was sent). Not sure exactly which others are though. So now I am confused if it really even matters, another post says children's results aren't significant???? I was hoping the fact that my dd had a + igenex igg WB AND a cd 57 less than 20 (from a separate lab!!)was a strong indicator that we are on the right path with lyme treatment.... so hard to process, hope we see results.
