princess1 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 My daughter is 9 yrs old and has been diagnosed with Pandas recently. Her OCD goes from mild to severe. We have this amazing chemist in Canada who I consulted with who knew what PANDAS was right away.He put my daughter on a product called ALL_ LIFE COLOSTRUM which he says will give the immunglobins that these children lack. She is on 500mg capsule 3 times a day on an empty stomach.COLOSTRUM is amazing to read about because it is an oral way of dealing with the immune system if IVIG is not available. I will update everyone with my daughters results.Very exciting!
princess1 Posted February 7, 2011 Author Report Posted February 7, 2011 Just forgot to add ....Has anyone tried Bovine Colostrum for PANDAS?
Iowadawn Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 This goes along with the transfer factors that are being talked about on the Lymes forum. Specific transfer factors are often recommended for lyme & co-infections. Interesting. Dawn

My daughter cant swallow pills so I was told to break capsule in milk ...no food for 30 minutes after taken. Taken on an empty stomach because protein destroy the benefit.Research indicates that autoimmune disorders are responding excellent to COLOSTRUM and thats what PANDAS is.Its unfortunate that its treated in Canada as a Psychiatric disorder.
NancyD Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Both my DD14 and I have been taking Transfer Factor (made from bovine colostrum) for many years and I think it's AMAZING!! it's one supplement we can't ever be without. Now we are also taking Transfer Factor LymPlus, which specifically targets Lyme disease. They're both very expensive but well worth the price! Nancy

LNN Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Our LLMD has recommended bovine IGG powdered supplement but I can't get my son to drink the stuff for all the bribes in the world. So can't say if it works.

Hi, just wondering if you are Canadian too? I am in Ontario and can't find anyone in this country who has even heard of PANDAS!!! My DS7 is being treated for mood disorder and anxiety disorder in one of the leading children's psych programs affiliated with one of the major teaching hospitals here in Ontario. They hadn't even heard of PANDAS. Or at least that's what they told me back in the fall. Now when I mention it and they throw their hands up and have no idea what to say about it. I'm anxious to hear how colostrum goes for your family. We're still trying to figure out what exactly we are dealing with. PANDAS, Lyme, or both. (His labs suggest PANDAS, but he has other symptoms that suggest lyme, and my bloodwork is positive for lyme.) We have not had any lasting success on any antibiotic or supplement so far, despite some dramatic short term improvements.

I am Canadian too in Ontario .The problem is with Pandas is that it is treated with the same Meds like any Mental health issue even if the doctor acknowledges it as a disorder.I just have no more energy for the battle either. Its an Autoimmune issue and the refusal to treat as one is hurting these kids. This Colostrum looks so promising. It helps to reverse tissue damage. The product is a high quality one called ALL_LIFE COLOSTRUM BY AOR company.Go read the Website .Very helpful with Lyme as well.Aids patients are improving with itThe immunglobins are what these children lack to deal with strep. That is what colostrum provides.I started today with it.From what I read it should not be a long wait for an improvement.Keep u updated.

So can't say if it works. You can buy Bovine colostrum in capsules.Just add it to Milk. Its tasteless. The chemist at the apothecary said its value is not destroyed in milk even if you add chocolate,Hope that helps.

amyjoy Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Xymogen makes an excellent, concentrated IgG product from colostrum for anyone who is interested. It is also in their protein I-5 drink, which also has alot of gut support in it. High grade olostrum does have some good affects on the immune system of the gut. We used their IgG product for some time, before we were able to get the ivig for my son, and it really didn't do anything in terms of diminishing symptoms, so we stopped using it as we were pouring so many supplements down that kid. However, the IVIG did amazing for his symptoms, tics down within one week. So we figured for our situation, the oral IgG was like, spit in a bucket, just way too little for pandas symptoms, but maybe helpful in general.
swim Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Interesting that we met with a naturopath a number of years ago before we knew anything about PANDAS/PITAND and she recommended a homeopathic remedy that contained breast milk based on all symptoms presented by our son. Please update us on how things go. I am very interested to see if you feel there is any improvement in symptoms. We did not follow through with the treatment at the time ...
Fixit Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Very interesting..and i too bought such a product about 2 months ago..then when i read the ingredients it had strep. T in it..so the wonderful herb store i bought it from let me returen 2 bottles...i think they may have been the ones to recommend based on something i said......hard to remember who i said what to and for what reason... maybe i will try to reivestigate a different brand..as all of theirs had strep T...... i think like amy said it might be like spitting into the ocean when it comes to our kids...but maybe its the long haul thing... as i can't say ldn did anything amazing...but just as we were going to go off of it again...both lyme docs said stay on.... i guess slow and steady win the race..
