shardz
Hi, My husband suffers from pure O OCD, tht is, he is obsessed with his thoughts. And whats worst is,those thoughts are about me and my past. How I talked to guys and fantasised them. I never lie to him. I had earlier told him all there is to my past without the knowledge of his OCD. Though I have not had any relationship in the past or flings or one night affairs. But he still cant get over my online friends or that i might have romantically imagined myself with someone else before we got together. I dont know how to treat him. I am suffering with him as well. The entire day he keeps on asking questions through mails and messages. Its taking a toll on our relationship as well as work. I love him a lot and cant think of seperating. But due to his OCD we dont get any time for ourselves. our relationship has reduced to nothing but questions and clarifications about my past. I miss him. He loves me and feels guilty for doing this to me which breaks my heart even more. Cant watch him like this. Cant talk to anyone either. Someone please help me. tell me how to treat him. Please. Chemar
Hello OCD can often be very effectively treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, done by qualified psychologists. In severe cases meds are used but those do have the risk of potential ick side effects. There are also more natural ways to treat OCD, which is usually caused by, amongst other things, a deficiency in the levels of serotonin in the brain, and so supplements, some herbal teas and also foods that help elevate serotonin can often bring relief. we have a pinned thread here on some helpful sites for OCD http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1963
AmieM
That would be a concern for any boyfriend/husband but for the questioning to be a daily routine has to be draining on you. What are things has he been subjects has he been demonstrating OCD tendencies in? When was he diagnosed? Edited March 27, 2011 by AmieM
