Guest Guest_efgh
Can you please give me an idea if DT vaccination (diphteria, tetanus) increases tics? How many of you in this forum have given this vaccination to your kid AFTER the onset of tics and have seen an increase in the tics? I am planning to vaccinate my son but I am quite skeptical about the after effects with regard to his tics. Your inputs would help me a great deal. Guest Jeff
Hi efgh, My 13-year old just got her tetanus "booster" about 3 weeks ago. We've seen no after-effects.
Chemar
hi efgh my son had to get a tetanus booster when he went on his mission trip to Nicaragua 2 yrs ago and it did not increase his tics. However, i truly cant address the diptheria vaccine as that was given when he was tiny??
Guest Guest_mmazz
Hi EFG: I vaccinated for DTP and MMR (boosters) in September. It was not until he received a shot of steriods in October fr croup that I saw tics. I am convinced that one, the other or a combination of all had something to do with the tics. I know I read a post somewhere in this forum about vaccines and the safest way to administer, i.e., independent shots spaced apart and requesting mercury free vaccines. Good Luck! Claire
efgh, I just saw this reading my daily digest from the yahoo enzymes and autism site. Didn't your son have a reaction to dairy? I don't have a link, but the date was Tuesday, April 26, 2005, from mom2steven get the mercury out of vaccines... "I found out the DTaP is grown on casein (milk protein) which my doctor was not aware of it. I talked to the vaccine maker and they confirmed that anyone who has a milk allergy should not have DTaP." She tells a horrible story of her child's reaction. However, if you can believe it, he was given MMR, Polio, Hep B and DTAP all on the same day in 2004!! What did you ever do here? kim
Claire, I have been reading the enzyme messages also. I ran across an interesting one that said that metals actually clear better as they bind to gluten and casein. This suggests using the enzymes may be preferrable to doing the elimination diet. I believe it was Karen that posted that information. Just wondering if you saw that and what you made of it. Kim
Claire
Really Kim? That surprises me because I read a study that said that monkeys given milk retained the mercury in their systems longer. I respect Karen, so I am sure she has a basis for this, I would be interested to hear where she got that. My son still gets casein in cheese almost daily anyway, and we do the enzymes for that. Someday I will post all my questions. I feel that I need a dedicated weekend someday to read through that site. I only get 24K through my phone line, so it is a long loading process to read the archives. Claire
kim
I was cleaning out some things under my "favorites" and came across this. http:// thinktwice.com/dpt.htm . These are some accounts of adverse reactions. I hate even posting this article, as I truly have no idea what I would do in your situation. I'm not looking forward to boosters either. The remarks people have posted here are a little reassuring. I went back 4 pages on this forum and found Andys post with the DAN guidelines for giving Immunizations. The thread title is " Vaccines?". Hope it helps. Kim
