She has been on Azith (250mg.), for a month.

On Nystatin since Dec 21st

Probiotics for 3 days. Started at 50+ Klaire, then down to 25+

This is her schedule:

10:45am Nystatin and Probiotic (25+)

11:45am 1 -Charcoal

2:00pm Azith., Nystatin and Lamictal.

3:00pm 1-Charcoal

7:00pm Nystatin

8:00pm 1 Charcoal

9:00pm 3mg. Melatonin, 25mg. Seroquel

first day on azith. she slept that night. she was really hyper with the stuff though. added nystatin and she calmed for a few days and was really mean. added 6 charcoal per day and things looked good for awhile, then wild again when the charcoal was lowered. then addded probiotic and she is not as wild, but she is always ready to tease or do something kind of sneaky, and insomnia is out the roof. she never slept well at night but i was able to get her to sleep with the melatonin. now she is super wild and not sleeping until 1am. i believe the probiotic is a big part of this. doctor doesn't want her on so many charcoal, but what else do you do?

Listen, I'm not an expert, very new to PANDAS, but I've been doing bio-med for awhile---

I agree with the Dr. why so much charcoal? Charcoal will wipe out EVERYTHING in the body-

I don't use charcoal, never have---I know you child is older, but if large die off, epsom salt baths are very good...

I space out my antibx., antifungal, and probiotics all by at least 2 hours- 3 hours.

I don't give any of those 3 at the same time. I do give vitamins throughout (not excessively)

And, I try and make sure my dd5 is eating well throughout the day, and her bowels are moving.

Maybe try giving up the charcol for a week, see how it goes? (Maybe the medications aren't able to take full affect because of all the charcoal?) Also, charcoal can be constipating, and the bowels need to keep moving (at least 1x a day)

Just my .02 cents!!

Hang in there---(I see your posts on the yahoo group, too, I know it's really hard for you right now)

I will second that it just looks like a lot of charcoal. I'm the one that likes to energy test everything before giving it, ask the body what it needs, and if you could get access to that, I think it would really help you. If not, going by the reaction is important. So I'm split between saying, if that much charcoal helps, okay, and, gosh, it just seems like a lot of charcoal.

Probiotics are really not supposed to cause what you are describing in terms of insomnia. So, if you really think it is causing that, I would encourage you to experiment with a different brand or two of probiotics.

If you are going to continue charcoal, any level of charcoal, I would really encourage you to consider adding some minerals into the mix. As S&S said, the charcoal can really wipe things out, and a lack of minerals in combination with use of antibiotics (and therefore yeast) can absolutely cause significant symptoms and behaviors.

When I recently added an antibiotic, it started making my dreams more vivid and unpleasant, and, to some extent, sleep issues during treatment may just need to be lived with. They can be managed some, like everything, with good detox and probiotics. I know you're trying to do that, and encourage you to keep at it, but it just looks like you need to tweak something here, maybe that can help reduce the side effects from where you are now.

I was told not to give Nystatin and probiotic at same time. Are you giving Nystatin because you think there is candida? My sons tics were worse way back when I gave Nystatin so I just stick with probitics. And if new to probiotics, I would start out slow. Kathy

1) She needs Saccharomyces Boulardii along with reg probiotics.

2) not enough Azith or try augmentin ?

3) Nystatin should not be used at same time as charcoal. (too much charcoal)

4) Having said that, Your ds's behavior sounds like yeast problem. I would definitely try different yeast med.

5) Did you have your ds tested for Mycoplasma P,?
