I was reading some posts today and came across a mom who was very thankful to have met 2 other mothers and 2 other children with PANDAS from this forum. How cool is that?! So, I was wondering if there are any other moms or dads on this forum that live in North Carolina. Not only can I not find a doctor to treat us in NC, I don't know of anyone else who has even heard of PANDAS, and I thought how nice would it be to form a support group that could meet once a month. Not only for parents, but these kids with PANDAS could also benefit from meeting each other too. Just sayin....

I am in Charlotte and have a group of doctors that are all working together to treat my son. We live in Charlotte. He was diagnosed almost 2 years ago and is doing well now. There are several other parents in this area as well.

Hi. I personal messaged you earlier, but not sure if it went through. We are in near Raleigh, NC (Apex/Cary) area too. PM me if you would like.

Hi, I didn't get a message.....so it didn't go thru or I haven't figured this all out yet. I'm so happy to have a response from someone else that's close by. Please send me an email and we can compare notes! yay! Kbossman1@nc.rr.com

We are north of Raleigh. We see Dr Corbier in Concord currently and have seen Dr Latimer in MD. I do not know of any doctors in the Triangle area who understand or treat PANDAS at this time. We make the drive to Concord about once a month and stay with family in Charlotte. Dr Corbier is always booked tight and I believe new patient appointments are about a year out. He said they are hiring more doctors at the practice and this would hopefully free him up for more time with PANDAS patients. I'm sure my wife would speak with you and would want to participate in a support group. You can send me a PM and I can pass your name and number on to her.

I am in New Bern NC. There are two families here. We go to a l ocal peds who is very interested in the disorder who has taken the time to talk to Dr. K. My ds9 got his IVIG infusion at our local hospital a few weeks ago and is now doing well. (was really ticcing badly)

I live in Charlotte too. We see Dr. Corbier as well. He just got the new doctors in last week. Hopefully he will have more time now for all of us which seems to be his main point of interest! He has shown interest in working with our LLMD too since we are all recent lymies in addition to PANDAS.

We're in Burlington. We're just in the process of making our appointment with Dr. Corbier and were initially told we'd have to wait until March for the new consult visit. We're still waiting for the official appointment though. We also have the option of seeing one of the other new doctors in the group at the end of January, but I'm really not sure what to do. My 11 year old son's OCD is really getting bad lately and I can't imagine him (or the rest of the family) going through this for 3 more months before we get help. He starts with his therapy next week, so hopefully that will help him too. Any suggestions? Should we hold out for Dr. Corbier or make an earlier appointment with one of the other Physicians in the same group practice.

Ask to keep the appt with Dr. C, but go ahead & see the other doc - be sure to ask if they "believe in PANDAS" before you book the appt.

If you need an immunologist, PM me. Her wait times are shorter.
