PacificMama Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Just saw this posted on lymenet. The ILADS conference will be streaming presentations live from the conference (there will also be video available for purchase afterward). Here is a link, which includes Friday's schedule at this point. But it will likely stream all three days. http://ilads.org/lyme_programs/lyme_events_video.html#page=page-1 There's some great things on the schedule. Now I just need to find a way to clear my day so I can watch...
PacificMama Posted October 12, 2010 Author Report Posted October 12, 2010 Just want to add as a reminder that ILADS conference is for medical professionals. So the presentations won't exactly be directed to a lay audience. Also wanted to note that in the Introduction presentation listed first on Friday, the MCIDS mentioned refers to Multiple Chronic Infectious Disease Syndrome. Sounds like something I can relate to...
sf_mom Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 (edited) Thank you!!!!! What a great list of speakers. I'll have to get up a little early especially to hear our LLMD speak. Edited October 12, 2010 by SF Mom
pixiesmommy Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 I was supposed to be at an appt on Thurs, but the entire staff of my LLMD decided to go!
sf_mom Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 That would definitely give me confidence you are in good hands with the most updated information.
philamom Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 SF MOM- WOW...Very impressed with Dr. H! You are so fortunate to have him guiding you!!
sf_mom Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I know... I learned a lot while listening. Lost connect but back listening and getting DS1 ready for school. I can't wait to hear Ann Corson speak.
philamom Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Dr. Bransfield mentioned PANDAS!!! He said they are tough cases!(something like that).
philamom Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I know... I learned a lot while listening. Lost connect but back listening and getting DS1 ready for school. I can't wait to hear Ann Corson speak. I'm very dissapointed I won't be able to watch it this afternoon. I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD?
PacificMama Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 I've got to take off, so I won't be able to see the last presentation today. But I do plan on getting dvd. I loved Dr. Corson. and was really impressed with Dr. Harris and Dr. Horowitz presentations also. I'm always amazed at the complexity of these diseases... especially when found in combination. Glad there are doctors out there who understand them! Look forward to hearing what you all thought. Mary
NancyD Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) Corson was VERY impressive! Unfortunately I missed the earlier presentations but I plan to purchase the DVD. The photo of the nasty rash Dr. Corson showed looked exactly like the rash my DD14 had in April. Dr. L said it looked like the mother rash of pityriasis rosea. Now I wonder... KeithandElizabeth Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Oh my gosh, Ann Corson was fantastic!!!! She really understands the big picture! Elizabeth
NancyD Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Doesn't she! I tried getting an appointment with her. They are waitlisting 6+ months out. I can clearly understand why! At least my name is on their list. Oh my gosh, Ann Corson was fantastic!!!! She really understands the big picture! Elizabeth
sf_mom Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I felt the same way... she really gets LYME/co-infections. WOW. I just want someone to go to her and report back to the forum. But, I'll admit we are pretty darn lucky to be so close to such a wonderful Dr. He has been wonderful with my kids and we see him on the 26th with all three. Its going to be a crazy, crazy appointment.
justinekno Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Maybe this was mentioned somewhere else on the board, but for those that watched the Friday presentations, what would you recommend to buy? I looked at the list on the ILADS site and it is kind of overwhelming. If I had the money I would just buy everything and just sort through it at home but since I don't....
