  1. Topamax is supposed to help migraines but a lot of people complain of headaches particularly at low dose. The headaches could also be from Bart. When I herxed from Bart the headaches were horrible. The only thing that helped was to detox.
  2. If you decide to titrate down or stop it altogether, do it REALLY SLOWLY!
  3. Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) at www.taca.org
  4. Yes, Bartonella rashes come and go. Often you will notice them more after a hot shower.
  5. Yes, it's commonly in sunscreens, lipsticks, and other makeup. We avoid any product with titanium dioxide or artificial dyes in it Ifran, see http://safemama.com/cheatsheets/sunscreen/ for sunscreens without TD.
  6. Are you sure it's not titanium dioxide that's causing the problem? That's an additive that sends my DD over the edge. Increases her anxiety, impulsivity, and mood dysregulation. It is commonly used as a whitener in gum, toothpaste, some medications, and many other products. Check out the mice study and titanium dioxide. Pretty scary. TD crosses the BBB very quickly. She has found gum that does not have TD in the ingredients.
  7. Yes, she was definitely more anxious. Although Riluzole was the only thing new she tried during that 3-month time period increased anxiety could have been caused by Bartonella, which was not yet diagnosed. But I can say with 100% certainty that Riluzole triggered the vocal and motor tics.
  8. My DD had a horrible experience with Riluzole in 2008 and I reported her side effects to the pharmaceutical company and those running the studies, but who knows if they documented it. They too told us nothing like that had ever been reported. Riluzole made DD more anxious and after 3 months we decided to stop. As we were titrating down VERY SLOWLY it caused really severe motor and vocal tics. They did not decrease after a few months and it was not until we did IVIg that they finally started to dissipate ~ week 10-12. It took a full year after IVIg for those tics to go away completely. Horrible experience with Riluzole!
  9. Thanks Wendy! Was able to catch Klinghardt and a few others. Too late on previous days.
  10. Thank you everyone. I like Buhner's Bart/MycoP co-infections book and am thinking of trying his protocol on DD. I was particularly interested in trying his recommendations for anxiety.
  11. Anyone use his protocol for treating Batonella or other co-infections? Would live to hear about your experience, good or bad. Dedee, norcalmom, LLM, Wendy, Elizabeth?
  12. You may also want to consider Epsom salts baths, infrared sauna, massage...also milk thistle and alpha lipoic acid (ALA). But again, add low and slow.
  13. It sounds like she is moving in the right direction. Give it time, don't layer on one treatment over another too quickly, be methodical in your approach, take it slow, take notes on what you are seeing with each treatment. and be sure to detox, detox, detox. Thinking good thoughts for you! P.S. when you say you are adding in folate, you mean Methylfolate, right? If she is MTHFR positive you don't want to give folate. And if she has only one mutation she may not need it. If you do try it, start REALLY low and slow.
  14. Yes, all part of the healing process and to be expected.
  15. Dark circles under eyes and red ears can also be a sign of GI issues.
  16. When my DD was little she had severe colitis and was allergic to gluten, dairy, soy, yeast, and a variety of other foods. With an elimination diet she ate mostly rice-based foods, in addition to fruit, veggies, and meat/poultry. Elimination diet and digestive enzymes certainly helped for a few years but it was merely a bandaid. Any cross-contamination of gluten set her back. And within a few years she was also allergic to rice. Aargh! What ultimately healed DD's gut and eliminated all food allergies altogether (except for artificial dyes and certain food additives) was monthly glutathione IVs for 2 years. For us it was the answer!
  17. Thank you, Laura and Mayzoo, for your thoughts re security of LiveWello. I will weigh the pros and cons and make my decision. I suppose if we all valued privacy over the health of our kids none of us would be posting such intimate details on public forums. We do what we have to do to get our kids healthy.
  18. Thank you, Laura, for your perspective on LiveWello. Any reason why one could not use a pseudonym to protect one's privacy?
  19. Does anyone have firsthand experience using the LiveWello app for 23andMe Raw Data? Would live to hear from anyone who has used this. Thanks!
  20. Tylenol lowers your glutathione levels, which is critical for boosting your immune system, balancing your red and white blood cells, and excreting toxins from your body. Ibuprofen is a better solution than Tylenol.
  21. I purchase from my doctor for convenience and discounts but you can also purchase online.
  22. I found the LymePlus really helped too!
  23. My DD and I have been taking Transfer Factor for many years -- it's a "must have" in our supplement regimen.
  24. Honestly, I don't know...but, I do recall several years back reading the NIMH website where they indicated 2000 was the highest ever reported.
  25. Several years ago before starting IVIg my DD's levels were at 2760.
