EmersonAilidh Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 The Polio vaccine was just making itself known. CPR had just been invented. Ultrasounds were new technology, heart transplants were unheard of, & PET, CT, & MRI scanners didn't even exist. Half a century from now.. Augmentin could be the new Adderall. P.A.N.D.A.S. could be as well known as ADHD. Having Lyme won't make doctors run & hide from you. IVIGs could be as common as appendectomies. & I know for a fact that I'll be thinking of my ACN cyberfamily when these milestones are finally met. When the medical world remembers its purpose as a HEALER above all else.. When doctors are losing their licenses for negligence when they DON'T treat P.A.N.D.A.S. & Lyme kids instead of losing them for trying to save a child's quality of life. We'll have eachother to thank. <3
Sylvia Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 The Polio vaccine was a disaster - a cancer causing monkey virus contaminated in millions of doses, and our Public Health agencies covered it up: http://www.sv40foundation.org/ http://www.amazon.com/Virus-Vaccine-Cancer-Causing-Contaminated-Americans/dp/0312278721 The reason they kept this information from the public? They didn't want to shake public confidence in the vaccine program I am usually very optomistic, but medicine in America is BIG business, and the Powers That Be don't like new things they didn't OK first. I hope you are right though and this information really gets a fair shake someday soon! The Polio vaccine was just making itself known. CPR had just been invented. EAMom Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Emerson, I'm counting on you to be part of the next generation of MD's to make this happen!
Worried_Dad Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Ditto! So - in the tradition of leading PANDAS docs on this forum - should we start calling you Dr. A? Emerson, I'm counting on you to be part of the next generation of MD's to make this happen!
LNN Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 No, Emerson (and maybe EmmaLily) is going to write a best-seller that tells the world the whole Pandas story and shares a message that helps thousands of kids like her. She's going to be the light house for our kids and use her eloquence to say all the things the rest of our kids want to say but can't find the right words.

How about they could become compassionate, articulate, ever-curious doctors who, in their "spare time," write eloquently about their experiences growing up with, and ultimately beating, PANDAS? I say, Shoot for the Moon! If you can get past PANDAS, you can do, be, ANYTHING! The sky is the limit!
thereishope Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 And it was the live oral polio, which can actally give kids polio. Also, it was distributed in schools. Sounds familiar(to the H1N1 last year)? History needs to learn from itself! Emerson, thank you! EmersonAilidh Posted September 9, 2010 Author Report Posted September 9, 2010 Everyone always says that I should be a doctor! But I've spent enough time in hospitals & offices. It might be selfish, but once this battle is over (& it WILL end!) I plan on going in for my yearly checkup.. & keeping myself out of hospitals as much as I can. I actually decided what I want to be when I grow up today. I take a Psychology class at school, which is a senior class (I'm a sophomore), & I really think that I want to be a psychologist for people with Lyme, P.A.N.D.A.S., & Autism. I already work with special needs kids at school & at my Dad's house.. & I can't imagine how awesome it would have been to have a therapist that REALLY GENUINELY understood! I think it's a good goal. I wanted to be a publishing editor for years though. I eat memoirs like Augusten Burroughs' up. I've ALWAYS planned on writing about my experiences. & you bet that all of you will have a giant thank you on the front page. <3 WorriedDad - My Mom calls me Dr. Emerson! Hahahah. Thank you!! I think it's just weird for people to hear a fifteen year old talk about P.A.N.D.A.S., & everything else for that matter, the way that I do. I always hear that people are surprised that I know so much. What do you expect me to do?? Sit back & let the antibodies win?? Excuse my French, but H### no. Also, I may not have talked to her about it yet, but I most definitely plan on meeting EmmaLily before I die. I have all you cyberMoms.. She's my cyberSister. & thank you all so much! So encouraging, I swear. I can't even express my gratitude.
