dut Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Hi - not PANDAS but yet another condition where an infectious etiology is being recognised http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-11204884 if you google XMRV retrovirus and CFS there are some interesting arguments out there but it looks as though CFS sufferers may be finally coming out of the "it's all in you head" woods.
lynn2 Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 (edited) Sometimes (especially today when I am loaded for bear anyway) I just want to go up to any member of the medical profession I can find and scream at them that just because they don't understand something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Sorry. One of my roommates at college was pre med and she already had the arrogance thing down. Then I think about the unique people that have helped us all with PANDAS and feel ashamed and guilty. Great. More guilt. Edited September 7, 2010 by lynn2
Sylvia Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 I have two children with autism and PANDAS symptoms, a mother with Parkinsons, and I have CFS. My youngest and most severely effected son has always had WBC on the lowest end of normal, and recently definitely below normal. Anyone else here have low WBC? Sometimes (especially today when I am loaded for bear anyway) I just want to go up to any member of the medical profession I can find and scream at them that just because they don't understand something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Sorry. One of my roommates at college was pre med and she already had the arrogance thing down. Then I think about the unique people that have helped us all with PANDAS and feel ashamed and guilty.
