Can TS also have food allergies?

Hi, my child has been to several doctors. We are told that he has TS by one doctor and a Tic syndrome by another. There is no TS history in our family and our child has tested for food allergies. I was wondering can a child have TS and food allergies as well. I wish to find out which diagnosis is correct so we will have a better handle on what to do.

as many here have discovered, your child's tics may be related totally to the allergies rather than anything neurological.

 

Many people have seen tics diminish and even stop completely when they have found and eliminated the offending food or environmental etc trigger.

 

I am sure those with more experience in this area will be along soon to offer more details

Allergies are extremely common (based on the posters here), whether it is TS or another type of tic syndrome.

 

Here is a survey thread on food allergies. As Chemar points out, plenty of environmental ones also, e.g. dust/mold.
