anti-nausea medication- PANDAS

I was wondering if anyone experienced this or if this just happened to bother my PANDAS symptoms and no one else. Once when I was flying over to Europe, I took a pill to sort of calm my stomach and the entire flight was a nightmare. I basically exploded with tics had to hold them in the entire international flight. Once I landed in Paris, I shook for about an hour in a French bathroom stall and things continued to be horrible for two days following. (both tics and OCD) Once the drug left my system, I was fine again. However it was so awful, it almost felt as if I had strep again. I noticed my tics get worse whenever I take any sort anti-nausea medication, do you notice this with your kids/ yourself (if you have PANDAS)?

I actually notice the complete opposite effect on my son. When he takes the anti-nausea medicine after his ivig, he is totally calm. He has no tics, no compulsions - nothing. However, this could be because he is not feeling well after the ivig. He takes anti-nausea pills about 24-36 hours after his ivig. Never had a problem with it.

Again, this could be because he is just feeling sick from the ivig.

Are u talking about Phenergan(fenergan spelling) That anti nausea drug makes some people go completely crazy, like u have things crawling all over ur body, like u want to shake all over. Does it to about 5 percent of the population. I was given it once in the er and within seconds I felt weird, they quickly injected something in me to counter the drugs reaction. I cannot image being on plane after taking this drug and have had this reaction. I would have had the plane landed.

I can't remember what the name of it was unfortunately. It was just a thing the sold in the airport. It defiantly could have been fenergan though . It's relieving to know there are some things that I can take without having a bad reaction.

My son's anti-nausea drug was ondansetron. No problems with this drug.

I was just talking to a friend who's on ondansetron for severe morning sickness...it works really well!

re motion sickness meds: My PANDAS dd has taken Marezine http://www.amazon.com/Marezine-Motion-Sickness-Tablets-12/dp/B000052YFK for a boat ride a couple of years ago and had no problems... It has the same active ingredient (Cyclizine) as Bonine for kids http://www.amazon.com/Bonine-Children-Motion-Sickness-Tablets/dp/B0013NE374/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_5 . (Marezine and Bonine for kids are different from Dramamine and reg. Bonine which make me more sleepy and don't seem to work as well.)

I don't have PANDAS, but Phenergan has the same effect on me - the skin crawling heebe-jeebies. AWFUL stuff for me. It DOES take your mind off of being nauseous though because the rest of you feels so rotten!

Heck, let's be honest... if us guys had to give birth, the human race would have gone extinct millennia ago. ;)

yup...I bet if it were *men* getting morning sickness they would have been more aggressive decades ago!
