cobbiemommy Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 DS,11, clipped his fingernails for the first time, ever! He has picked his fingernails and toenails continuously since he was two. In the past he has picked a toenail clear off. He is still picking at his fingernails but not nearly as much. I about fell out of my chair when he asked me for a pair of nail clippers. Little things mean so much! We are 6 weeks post IVIg. Cobbie
Worried_Dad Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Every PANDAS parent can appreciate how momentous these milestones really are. Congrats, and may the healing continue!!!
norcalmom Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 That is fabulous. We are almost 3 weeks post ivig, still waiting for that magical moment! Still wetting bed almost every night. Mood is up and down though- we are having some really good days, but still alot of grumpiness and anxiety. I'm taking the bed wetting as a good sign..at least I know something is happening in there(this something ds would only do right before exacerbation ...and usually only enough to get pajamas wet, now he's soaking everything) Please keep us updated- the fact that you are a few weeks ahead of us and you can see changes keeps me hopeful that our moment is just around the corner!
purple66p Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Mine did, too, this very morning before the first day of school! I share your joy. He also let me cut his hair last night, which is often a huge battle.
airial95 Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 I love to celebrate the seemingly little things that most parents take for granted in their children - Congratulations!!!
Priscilla Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Hallelujah! Hope it keeps moving forward for you
