Hi everyone-

My 9 yr old DS had IVIG with Dr K 8 weeks ago. It has been a bumpy road to to say the least. I had a lot of doubts but DH did not. The past two days have been really good around here. Good speech, eye contact, energy and less stiffness and jerky body movements. I could go on.... DS has always been afraid to ride a bike, even with training wheels he hated it. It looked all awkward when he would attempt to do it. He had no strength or coordination. Today was awesome! He didnt go far but he appeared more relaxed and was really excited that he did it. He used to just say he didnt care if he ever rode a bike.

Writing and math has started to improve as well. His conversations are becoming more normal and age appropriate.

I hope I am not jumping the gun here but I have not been posting on here much as I was just WAITING for a day like today. I am so choked up about it.

DS told me afterwards that he would never forget this day!!! Neither will I!!!!

WAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I can still remember that feeling when my pre-PANDAS daughter rode her bike for the first time and it was exhilarating. She was so happy and proud of herself. I think I'll have to imagine that feeling on steroids to come even close to how you and your son must be feeling. Congratulations!!!!

Made me really smile! I remember the first time post PANDAS that one of my sons 6 told me he was going to go into another room by himself to watch TV. This was impossible for him pre IVIG. He left the room and I burst into tears. He got better and better after that and remains great 10 months later. So happy for you all.

Congratulations to you and him! This is a big step.

My son's bike hangs in the garage gathering dust for almost two years because he had fears about going outside. Hoping he will be riding soon!

Great job!!! Whoo hoo!!!
