The PARASITIC yeast we refer to is CANDIDA ALBICANS as opposed to the regular yeast used in food (brewers' yeast or bakers' yeast which is of the genus Saccharomycetales although some of the special diets that people go on in order to eliminate the yeast infection caused by parasitic Candida do recommend cutting our foods made with the harmless yeast in foods, still it is NOT those yeasts that are the parasites. It is just a good idea to cut out all fungal foods, including mushrooms etc while working to get rid of Candida yeast infections. I just get the impression that some folks think that yeast elimination that we talk about means that used in cakes and breads, rather than the parasitic, disease causing Candida fungus here is a bit of botanical background on yeasts Yeast are unicellular fungi. . Yeasts are also found on the skin surfaces and in the intestinal tracts of warm-blooded animals, where they may live symbiotically or as parasites. The common "yeast infection" is typically Candidiasis is caused by the yeast-like fungus Candida albicans.
