smartyjones Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 do you like that product in and of itself or is it that it survives abx that you like? how do you determine how many organisms are 'good'? thanks.
peglem Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 do you like that product in and of itself or is it that it survives abx that you like?how do you determine how many organisms are 'good'? thanks. I like that you don't have to give it separate from abx, although my daughter takes nystatin and I have to keep it separate from that. Also, though, I'm told it keeps c.difficile in check, which can be a problem w/ a lot of abx.
Johnsmom Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 My ds has been on it since November for Clostridia. For two months we also did 2 drops of thyme oil in a capsule. We use Kirkman Sach boulardis. We did a urine MAP test with our DAN doctor that showed high clostridia and this is the protocol she put us on. I havent had him retested but can tell by his behaviors that it must be at bay. He usually gets pretty irritable and down when it is elevated. do you like that product in and of itself or is it that it survives abx that you like?how do you determine how many organisms are 'good'? thanks. MomWithOCDSon Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 We like it, too, because we can dose it concurrent with the abx, and also because it just adds another form of flora to his gut alongside the bifido and lactobillus in the other probiotics we give him. I also like that we can get it at a reasonable price in 7 billion organism gelcaps at places like The Vitamin Shoppe.
Johnsmom Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 We use it with Bifido as well. Kirkman Bifido complex! justinekno Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 We use it too. Our dr recommended it prior to our PANDAS diagnosis and we have kept using it due to antibiotic use. Initially, it was recommended for my son's major gut issues (we think the strep might be in the gut). We use it along with a probiotic twice a day. My husband takes it as well for his gut issues. do you like that product in and of itself or is it that it survives abx that you like?how do you determine how many organisms are 'good'? thanks.
Stephanie2 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I like that it survives abx, but also it worked great at killing a clostridia infection in both of my young boys. Their follow-up test results showed no clostridia... Stephanie do you like that product in and of itself or is it that it survives abx that you like?how do you determine how many organisms are 'good'? thanks.
