P_Mom Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 If we choose someone in the top 100 (close to the bottom), then we do NOT vote for them this month, but, tell them if they help us get into top 10, we will vote for them next month.(hopefully they will hold their top 100 spot, if not, then we can throw some votes their way) It is risky to choose someone NOT in the top 100 to make this deal, then, what do we do if they don't make it in? We couldn't fulfill our aggrement. We jumped so many spots in the beginning of this competition because it was just that, the beginning. Unless someone cheats, I don't see that big of a jump being made by anyone now that we are this far into it and people are moving slowly up or down.
JAG10 Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 Jag10....I, too, am trying to figure out exactly what you mean ....and I don't even drink coffee? lol Could you explain a little more. Any roll over category starts with zero votes at the beginning of the month, and then they are in it for the full month, just like anyone else. Does that help? Not sure. Let me know! I am using the survivor strategy every day....all 9 votes. Trying to keep the old going, but, sending some votes to our competitors voters (top 10). I know we are all doing everything we can do spread the word.....I know I have and it gets tiring! But, there is NO slacking off this month......VOTE!!!! Let's say a group was in the top ten for the 25K category for April. Although they are probably really excited, they won't know for sure if their votes are all approved or verified or whatever until a few weeks into May. So their leaders may be saying something like.."we need to keep voting like we didn't make it into the top ten just in case some votes are disqualified for whatever reason and we don't end up with a grant. Once we get official word we did win a top ten 25K grant, then we can stop voting." So, if we know who those folks are from April, maybe we can get them to support us? That may also result in some shifting after the April announcements are made? Is that how it worked last month? Sorry, I didn't start paying attention until this month!
thereishope Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I guess it's worth a shot. As long as we strongly explain we will vote for them next month IF we win this month. So, in other words, if you help us this month, we'll help you next month. If we do this, look on their page if there's another way to conatct them. So, this strategy isn't made public. And if one says no, we can try another. Everyone, remember,in the $50K catagory, only vote for us! If we choose someone in the top 100 (close to the bottom), then we do NOT vote for them this month, but, tell them if they help us get into top 10, we will vote for them next month.(hopefully they will hold their top 100 spot, if not, then we can throw some votes their way) It is risky to choose someone NOT in the top 100 to make this deal, then, what do we do if they don't make it in? P_Mom Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Okay, I see what you are saying. The only problem is that these people might be burnt out (I can see how it can happen...it takes alot of work) and might not be interested in going on the computer every day and voting again....especailly when they have nothing to gain from it. I think our best support is going to come from people still in the game. Just my thoughts.....anyone else???? (this reply is to JAG) maybe that helps clear things up, Vivkie! lol Edited May 10, 2010 by P.Mom
thereishope Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I think I need to step away from computer, clear my mind, then read this again. I'm starting to get confused. I need an immunity idol!
thereishope Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Okay... clean slate.... I like the idea of "assigning" people who to vote for if they want us to tell them. In the morning, even I get confused who should get our votes. As for approaching past winners, I don't think they will go for it. Just being honest. As for approaching $50K, my gut's saying abandon all thoughts of this. Please, everyone, DO NOT vote for anyone in the $50K catagory except for us! I'll try to think what other orgs we can contact. Hm. I feel like we're missing something here. I'll think on this whole things some more today.
peglem Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Are we on autism one, or the other PANDAS sites?
thereishope Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) I contacted Autism One and have not gotten a response yet. If anyone blogs on there, can you post it? I posted it on Age of Autism's blurb about PANDAS presentations, but that's it. I tried to get votes from Generation Rescue on the pepsi page but they didn't seem interested and never reciprocated, so I stopped sending votes. Any other ideas? Again, if anyone is going to the May Conference, please print out cads to hand out in the event you have a conversation with someone and the opportunity arrises. The pics is available on photobucket or you can make your own. http://s905.photobucket.com/albums/ac251/P...omputercopy.jpg Edited May 10, 2010 by Vickie
P_Mom Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Bump.....Good afternoon!!! VOTE!!!!!! We are getting close!!!! I was talking to my pharmacist about PANDAS etc. today....says he sees one more child get scripts for antibiotics for it. We are both in Western PA.......this child has to go to NY.....what a shame we have to travel so far and all we want/need are antibiotics, and sometimes steroids or IVIG......common meds! Anyway, he said I could leave cards there on his counter!!!!.....making some up later tonight (baseball first, of course) to take down tomorrow! I hope we can get more voters from this! Any idea/effort helps!! VOTE!! God Bless you All! Kelly Edited May 10, 2010 by P.Mom
Megs_Mom Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 So I actually vote for PANDAS everyday, as does my hubby & everyone I know. We also had an entry into the 50K block, which I have never mentioned here, as it suddenly felt like it would be competitive. We have turned support to just the PANDAS entry, and will re-enter next month. That being said, I do think that a block of $50K groups could be very strong - so long as you really form alliances. We were not NEARLY as organized as Vicki & Kelly (such an awesome job & I know how hard this is!!!) It's a wierd system, but I tend to believe in the alliances, as you are forming them quickly and have done SO well this month. Congrats, and we'll keep the votes coming. I agree with assigning voting blocks for those that want them - feel free to give me an assignment if you wish!
thereishope Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) I had a feeling you were involved with that one:) Thank you for your support and kind words! JAG10 Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 Vickie and Kelly, I was looking up the folks listed at the top as the winners for April and taking a look at their comments which several are recent this month. Some interesting info there... I was specifically looking at the ones on the bottom; 8,9,10, that just made it like Hartwood Elem. Ouch, it gets a little ugly in the end!!! But there is a lot of strategy spelled out there. One group claiming to have channelled 1200 votes on the last day. I have no idea how these folks have any idea as to the numbers unless that info is posted somewhere else? Heck, maybe we should just google Pepsi refresh strategy and see what pops up???
JAG10 Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 How FUNNY! I googled pepsi refresh strategy and Latitudes Survivor strategy was the 20th entry!!! Most of the ones before that related to Pepsi's marketing campaign to skip superbowl. There was one article about a small non-profits strategy that stated Pepsi does not share voting data with the participants.
thereishope Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Pepsi has a section on it's website for promotion and strategies on there, but it freezes up my computer and it's a new computer! There was a spot on the pepsi site where I read about them interviewing past winners on how they won. That's how I learned about trading votes.
