OK, that's a little weird. I couldn't read it all, but what I read does not speak to me. I think working in Ct. within stones throw from NYC, may influence practice. I just want a down to earth physician that is brilliant and compassionate and keeps his/her eyes on the goal. Healing.

Yeah, it strikes me as odd, also. A dermatologist, a plastic surgeon . . . those are the guys you might expect to see with a medical day spa. What's the professional link between an immunologist and botox? Aren't the professional goals of healing one's immune system versus injecting poison to freeze muscles and tissues contradictory somehow? :)

We do not see Dr. Bouboulis, but I know of several people whose children have been immensely helped by him. These children have gone through the ringer in terms of psychiatrists and neurologists to finally find help with Dr. Bouboulis. And as PANDAS parents, we really need all of the doctors we can get who are willing to learn and treat children with PANDAS. We do not have a doctor in all of Colorado who really understands PANDAS and I really envy the people who get to see Dr. Bouboulis, Dr. Kovacevic and Dr. Latimer.

We see Dr B and I have to say that he was the first dr to really listen and want to help. He certainly did not push us into ivig in fact I pressed hard for it. At the time I think he had only treated a few others. So yes it may be true that he is new to pandas and this was not his life's work but somehow some pandas kids found him. He has been willing to learn and speak with dr k and dr cunningham. How else are we going to get our kids treatment? I also believe that dr k has always said that his opinion is his contribution not the treatment. He has openly shared his protocol with dr B and that's a good thing. We can't really fault dr b for trying to learn. I'm glad to have found dr b and my daughter is better for it.

Well said Elizabeth! Since we're on the subject of Dr. B and his ability to do many things well I might add..

Denis Bouboulis, MD, is a board certified physician licensed in Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania. Dr. Bouboulis has been chosen as top physician of the year for

the past 3 years by “Connecticut’s Top Physicians” and “Top Physician of the Year, 2007” by “America’s Top Physicians.” Dr. Bouboulis specializes in the treatment of allergies,

asthma, and immunology in children and adults. He is also dedicated to providing the finest healthcare for children suffering from PANDAS

I fail to see why anyone would find fault with a doctor diversifying his practice?

there are many doctors who are involved with more than one specialization and at the end of the day all that matters is how satisfied their patients are with the care they are receiving

it seems that those who have seen DrB are very satisfied :) as has been stated above

this forum is really not the place for this type of posting and so I am going to be locking this thread pending Sheila's review of it
