Chemar Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 I just wanted to let you all know that it is currently hard for me to be on the forum as often as I would like to........we recently had Hurricane frances over us just a few weeks after Hurricane charley and now they are forecasting that Ivan is headed our way. We go thru power outages(another today) as they try to get everyone back up (6 million lost power last weekend) and are repairing roof leaks we are all very anxious as Ivan would be just devastating for an already severely damaged and flooded Florida we value your prayers for all who are suffering from these storms. i have lived in Orlando for 14 years and have never had hurricanes over us this far inland before so this is just unbelievable. I will pop in when I can, but just wanted to explain my inability to answer questions and emails promptly at present.
Andy Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 This hurricane season is strange when one considers the strength of these storms, all have been listed as 4's one time or another while at sea and one already landed on land as a 4. I always thought a 4 was like, rare. There really isn't any sure place to run to in South or Central Florida when a 4 hits. Ocean Surges, rivers over flowing, torandos, and already saturated sand/land makes this one scary if it hits. Three strong hurricanes after years of none, no wonder why there is a feeling of dread and fear in the air and on the faces of so many down here in Southwest Florida. Best of luck to everyone and lets hope that when it hits it will hit weaker then predicted and in an area that is not populated. Other then that, GO FSU, I'm not a University of Miami Hurricane fan anymore.

We are all praying for you that this hurricane season finally passes and gives Florida a well earned rest.... Buddy.
