Guest Guest_efgh
Sorry, I have not been posting much lately BUT I make it a point to read every post here. My son is overall doing fine . His tics are very minimal these days. thanks to all of you for your immense guidance and support when I was in crisis. Claire, I was shopping around for an LCD TV monitor. I came across one good model from Sony (but this cannot be connected to the computer). I saw another good one from LG but this CAN be connected also to the computer or the playstation. the one you have, is it possible to connect the TV directly to the PC and can it be used as a pc monitor too? I know you have sent so many posts regarding the samsung tv/model no etc. sorry for asking about this again. Chemar, you mentioned that you had some disc problem due to a car accident? Was it a disc compression ? If so, is it in the neck area or the back area? Did you do an MRI to find out the exact intensity of the problem? Sorry, I am going offtopic but would appreciate your reply.
Claire
Hi efgh, I am so glad that your son is doing so well! I hope you are feeling better also. We have this one. We got the 15" because we wanted it smaller (for less impact) and it is cheaper. This is a computer monitor with built-in TV tuner and the cheapest I found. One thing with the LCD monitors for TV. They have an external brightness control, which for some reason needs to be low for normal TV (we like it low anyway to minimize the light--it doesn't affect the picture). But for DVD dark movies, e.g. Batman...you need to turn the brightness up--as long as you do this, the picture is fine. , Our Price: $449.99 There is a $30 rebate right now, so $419 total. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id...41&type=product Samsung SyncMaster 15" Multifunction TFT-LCD Monitor - Silver Model: 510MP Image is everything, and with MagicBright technology and a built-in TV tuner, this versatile monitor knows it. So let it work — or play — for you. 15" screen (15" viewable) 0.297mm pixel pitch Built-in TV tuner, stereo speakers and power supply Claire

Chemar
Hi efgh good to see you here and sorry I missed this thread. the hurricane stuff has really thrown my life in a loop so I am not as "on the ball" as I like to be No, I didnt have disc prolapse. I had dislocated my atlas vertebra. As a result, I do have to be very careful about certain motions and know exactly when it is even slightly out now.....and quickly run to my chiro for a "tune up" I highly recommend the NUCCA chiros. hope you arent suffering too much with your problem. glad your sons tics are down and hope the asthma symptoms are relieved soon too. God Bless
Guest Guest
Hi Chemar Thanks for your KIND post ( as usual). I know that you are too busy with various activities but please remember that your posts mean so much for us. There are very few dedicated people like you (and Claire) who ensure that so many mothers are benefitted with their rich knowledge and expeirence. Chemar, hope the hurricane stuff did not bother your family MUCH. Thanks for asking. My pain has drastically improved but still the doctor has advised me to be VERY CAREFUL with regard to some swift neck movements etc. He says surgery is the last resort and I obviously DONT want to end up in that situation and hence I am being very careful. As of now, I am doing fine and virtually pain free. Being a jumpy/active character, its going to be a bit difficult for me to be still or quiet! Yeah, my son is doing really well the past 5 months with regard to his tics. His asthma symptoms were a lot under control but suddenly he got his attack a couple of days ago. He is on the path to his recovery though ( with his inhalers!). Claire, would like to add that my son started off with TV watching every day for half hour on a normal screen but 5 m away from the screen and he is doing pretty fine even with that.. THANKS A TON for all your valuable time and effort in educating me in this regard. His tics did increase a bit with the school starting but now he is back to his normal self. I owe a lot to EVERY MEMBER of this forum and would love to keep in touch with you all the time! thanks and goodluck to all of you.
