Worried_Dad Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Wow - scary! One of the last obstacles with which our PANDAS son still struggles is memory, concentration, focus. Homework tasks that used to be a breeze are extremely difficult for him now. I pray that - as the inflammation recedes - he'll recover these abilities.
MomWithOCDSon Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 This is so interesting on so many levels, especially as PANDAS isn't the only source of inflammation. Our DS also has allergies (inflammation). We've really upped his probiotics of late, and adding Ibuprofen seems to help tremendously also, in addition to his abx. Also got quercitin and tumeric going, which are supposed to be anti-inflammatory as well. Thanks for sharing! Our medical professionals really need to get their heads together on all these "pieces of the puzzle," and I am grateful for every article and link this forum provides that gives me more fodder to share with them and say, "Read this!"
memom Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Boy do I agree. I have seen this in both my kids. Ellie
kimballot Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Wow! Executive functioning is always the first to go and the last to return for us. Has anyone ever had CRP levels or any other infammatory markers checked in our kids?
