Strep or Flu?

Cough, sore throat, fever rising (100 degrees right now but she's had some motrin), aches, pains. Sound like strep? I'm thinking more like flu. I think we will be heading to urgent care in a bit.

Hope she feels better! Doesn't sound like strep with the cough and body aches but you never know.

I'm completely confused now because before we could get to urgent care she was doing better and her fever went down. I'm watching her tonight to see how she is. Maybe I over reacted?

2 of my kids started with a fever only that lasted a day or two. Then it morphed into cold like symptoms. Now I have what they had and I know it's a cold.The only person not sick is my PANDAS son!

 

Anyway, keep up with the Ibuprofen for a few days. With fevers, sometimes PANDAS symptoms will worsen a few days after the fever. Continue with the IB to keep any impending swelling on the basal ganglia down.

According to our neurologist, once they have PANDAS, anything can trigger exacerbations (strep, flu, a cold, etc.)

Always worth checking it out! Our PANDAS journey started last year when is assumed it was the flu, and I'm now pretty convinced it was flu + strep
