KaraM Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 HI, We started giving my daughter Inositol a few weeks ago. We bought it at a small organic food store, "A New Leaf". It says it was manufactured for "A New Leaf" and contains no added sugar, salt, dairy, yeast, wheat, soy, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors. I was in Whole Foods the other day and found Inositol there, too. The brand is Jarrow Formulas. For ingredients it lists: Pharmaceutical grade Inositol and silicon dioxide (in trace amounts). Does anyone know if I should be concerned about the silicon dioxide? Does anyone have experiece with the Jarrow brand. I'd love to switch because it's about half the price. Thanks, Kara
Chemar Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Hi we use the Jarrow Inositol Powder and it has no additives at all. It can be dissolved in a drink or just takenb straight as it has a powdered sugar taste and texture we buy the Jarrow Powdered Inositol at iHerb at low cost http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Inosi...-227-g/126?at=0 If you are seeing the capsules at Wholefoods, then the silicone dioxide may refer to that little sachet that they put in the container to absorb moisture?? These are the capsules, where I see silicon dioxide listed in the ingredient list, so not sure if it is added into the capsule contents or shell, or refers to the moisture absorbing sachet?? http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Inosi...e-Caps/192?at=0
KaraM Posted March 25, 2010 Author Report Posted March 25, 2010 That's so strange. The bottle I have looks just like the one for the powder you provided the link for (mine says powder, too). But it has that clause about the silicon dioxide... Thanks for the links, Kara Hiwe use the Jarrow Inositol Powder and it has no additives at all.
