Pat Pat, He is doing 2 allergy shots for his seasonal allergies (he has a lot) and prescribed Veramyst fluticason furoate (cortico steroid). They are recommended by his immunologist and neurologist to help his tics. Do you now if steroids can trigger tics?
patty
shannonotown, steriod is a stimulant so it may aggravate tics, but if your son is not reacting to it, i would not worry about it. How long have you been using the steriod nasal spray? And how many allergy shots have your son had? just curious about the allergy shots & steriod use since my son has allergies & asthma. FYI, we have been doing NAET for his food & environmental allergies and it has helped. pat
ShannonOtown
Pat, He's had 6 appts so far. We could do 2 sessions a week, but I'm very nervous since he's pandas and I don't want to push his immune system to hard. I never thought about the nasal spray being the trigger... he's been on them for sooo long. I'll wait until this tree season passes and pull him off the RX. Thanks for the clue. I have not gone NAET route yet, but it's on the table if this doesn't work.
Tom101
"Thanks Cherie,"I guess I just assumed tics were something you get use to and it just becomes part of your day... but that sounds silly now that I think about it. If my eyes were constantly blinking... I would be annoyed and tired by 9pm too. I have implemented all you suggested on the mag, Bs, multi v, and baths from previous post; however it's the TV and video games that is the most difficult for a 12 year old boy! I think I'll start with a spring break vacation where we have no electronics and see if that helps him. It's easier when he's away from his stuff." I'm 13 and just got back from a camp with one of my mates and we didn't have a chance to go on our iPods or anything, but I now have a tic which, If I remember correctly, I got on the third night. We stayed up to 10 every night except the first which was 11. The day we got we were up to 12 (we had people over). I wasn't stressed at all throughout the trip, I found it quite relaxing and fun. It feels like my eye is flickering up and down a tiny bit and is very irritating. I'm also blinking more frequently than normal as a consequence of this.
