Guest Larry
Hello everyone. I am reading this site quite often and it has been lots of information and lots of good advises. Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences and knowledge. We all need it. My 6 years old son has ticks almost for a year. He has everything. You name it he has it ( shoulders shrugging; eyes blinking, whole body shaking; neck, head, face pulling etc.). It is quite rapid too (5-10 ticks /minute) we went through many treatments and going through many now too. But no success yet. Every time a little better than failure. My biggest problem is a doctor. We do not have a good practitioner who has experience with tics. For every treatment we use different doctors, but we need someone who can look at the picture as a whole and manage the entire process. I know that you do not post doctors names here but, please, I am asking Heather if you could give the information of the naturopath that you are using. This practitioner seems to have lots of experience with tics. I know that you do not share this but it is so hard to find the right person. Please Heather, if it is possible, may be you can e-mail this to me at larry@coolair-ny.com. I will greatly appreciate it.
Claire
In case Heather hasn't responded yet, I wanted to post the link of doctors that are at the top of this site. http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?...p?showtopic=565 You will have much better luck finding a knowledgeable doctor from this list than trying general practioners and neurologists who don't specialize in this type of treatment. Quite a few of us who didn't have a good practioner found our doctors from this link. Good luck. Claire
Guest Lee
Hello and thanks Claire for the link. In addition to Larry's queries, I hope someone could also advise me supplements that are good for vocal tics. Thanks.
Eric_LordTwitchAlot
Marinol helps the vocal tics that I have--which are very minor to severe- However, nothing helps my severely violent/self-injurious motor tics- Marinol may not be a proper approuch for younger age groups-however--plus---very very expensive- http://www.marinol.com/patient/pat03.html anyway--worth looking at---
Chemar
In addition to Larry's queries, I hope someone could also advise me supplements that are good for vocal tics. Thanks. Hi Lee numerous reports indicate that one of the most effective supplements for vocal tics is acetyl L- Carnitine. I personally feel that a good supplement regimin that includes a pure multivitamin/mineral, high in the B vits, along with extra calcium/magnesium/zinc and a high potency essential fatty acid should be the foundation for everyone trying to help tics reduce.
