kengela
we are new to all of this, including using the computer for me we live in mid michigan and i think our choice of doctors is going to be limited anyone know of one with an interest in ts (possibly a dan doctor) i have a 5 yr old daughter diagnosed this past fall her main obstacle seems to be her adhd symptoms although her motor tics have drastically increased latley and im worried the head shake and eye bliking are going to be a prob at school. im going in later to observe her later her teacher says she hasnt noticed the new tics i cant beleive she can supress them to the point of unnoticable to someone even slightly watching for them. I dont want to medicate her and am hoping to find an open-minded doctor to help id like her tested for deficiancies, toxins, etc. She is currently gfcf i started it at the onset of all of this last summer and saw huge improvement, even as she began school. but now im wondering if all was just a natural waning period-seems it would be odd timing to wane so much at a high stress period, but then again her symptoms from the start have been very atypical hope to hear from someone in the state on a new doc soon, the ones we have seen so far have been closed-minded and not very familiar with ts

She also has sensory issueas, ocd tendencies or maybe compulsive would be a better description, extremely hyper during waxing, also fears at night of having nightmares and im hoping that her"imaginations of scary things" arent hullucinations-she also says she hears things, just anytime not at bedtime or during the night. at the begining of her major symptoms she seemed to be having some problem with her memory-like words to songs and nursrey ryhmes has anyone else experienced this? im interested in possible subtypes iv been seeing it mentioned here and there just thinking it may offer help in the future maybe certain subtypes (ts from different causes?) respond to certain therapies

My husband and I are from the U.P., lived there all of our life. Our family is all still there. We've been in Madison, WI for 5 years, and I'm so thankful for being where we are. I always think that if I was having this problem with my almost 5 year old son, and living back home in MI, I would be lost with trying to find a doctor. My son has had motor tics and some vocal since around age 2,and we have finally found a naturopath to work with. We did use a DAN doctor, but it was $500 for our first visit, all out of pocket, and honestly I could have done everything he suggested by reading this board. Good luck ok!!
