Ok we were all set for the IV for thursday Insurance DR and Home infusion all set 8am .So Im happy right dannys finally going to get the treatment right...Well nooooo Now they called the infusion company and said they cant get the gamaguard ?? I think its because he has touretttes and aspergers I do I really do.The nasty nurse called and said "since your son has these issues we dont thinkhe could sit still for 8-9 hrs.OMG how do they know what he can do 1st of all the 1st IV he sat for 3 days in a hospital bed If theres one thing danny can do its sit he loves to sit and watch movies for hours hes 15 and not the hyper moving kid He may have to go the the bathroom but aside from that..When he was in the hospital for the IV the nurses actually wanted him to get up and walk around .OMG and then I asked the nasty nurse well is it the medication or his "issues"? She said they couldnt get the medication.I called my case manager Im waiting for a call back.

I'm so sorry! This is unbelievable. Are they telling you they can't get the medicine at all?? Also, what was the context of her telling you they didn't think your son could sit still for 8 hours. Was she saying they wouldn't do it at all for that reason? It's a little confusing.

What company are you using? Who is your insurance? I was going to go this route with Gamunex Direct and they were extraordinarily helpful. We ended up going to Chicago to have Dr K administer - and I am so glad we did, because it was so great to have him hold our hand through this. If you think going with Gamunex Direct could help you, I can give you the name of the person I was dealing with. All they need is the doctor's script and they can set up the rest - including getting approval from insurance and getting an experienced nurse who is used to dealing with children.

maxim home care has infusion nurses. Accepts pretty much every insurance and they just need a doc's script. They are national, have done my dd's inusions in mid west and now are doing them in the south. Caremark cvs ships product to your house, they are great.
