Suzan Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Hello All.... I wanted to share a picture of my girls and our trip to NY with you. My mom brought to my attention a bill board from our very first photo of the girls in NY. She noticed that the billboard in the background said "Sick All The Time?" I zoomed in and I realized that it was an add for the National Primary Immunodeficency Center website that I check out frequently wondering about CVID or other immune related issues for the girls. This seems like a wild coincidence! Of course, once I post one picture, I can't stop, one is of them at the top of the empire state building and the other two just really great close ups that remind me they are beautiful and doing really well right now. Thanks for looking. http://images1f.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ff...B%3B89338nu0mrj http://images1e.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ff...%3C843338nu0mrj http://images1e.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ff...%3C833338nu0mrj http://images1f.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ff...75%3B3338nu0mrj

nevergiveup Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Pretty ladies. I do believe God puts messages up all around us, its no coincidence. I saw the same add and my girl was sick all the time. It led me to do more research and helped find solutions and treatment for her.
ajcire Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Your girls are beautiful. It is so nice to have faces to put to the name. It is definitely one of those coincidences that make you stop and wonder. Ok, about the pupils... seriously, if I post pics of my kids eyes would you guys be able to tell me if they look dilated?
tantrums Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 What does dilated eyes mean? I mean I KNOW physically what it means, but what does it mean if they are dilated in our kids?
peglem Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 It can be a sign of brain inflammation, or a sign of hyper-alert, on the verge of fight or flight reaction. One of the things that happens when you are frightened is an autonomic reaction, that dilates the eyes (so highten vision so you can defend yourself), dilates blood vessels so your muscles and sensory organs get more oxygen (again to increase defensive capabilities), and increases clotting factor in case you get injured. And, of course, adrenaline surges for strength.
MomWithOCDSon Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Yes, they are beautiful, but even more to all your credit, they look HAPPY! And in NYC, too! I found myself surveying the backgrounds of the pictures and the peripheries, not just for the billboard you pointed out, but for all the melee of items (handrails, benches, sign posts) and structures typical of a large, bustling city. Then, somewhere in the back of my head, I head my OCD/PANDAS boy's voice, were we attempting to enjoy ourselves with a trip of that ilk. Along about the moment of those photos, he'd be worrying about what he'd touched and how many other people had touched it and if it was dirty and when could he next wash his hands, and . . . . . . Enjoy your good times, and may they last and last!
sf_mom Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I'll admit I looked for the eyes of fear in the picture. Geez, do I have PANDAS on the brain or what. They are two very beautiful girls. Keep them well, you owe that to them. AND, there are no coincidences in life. -Wendy
EAMom Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I love the close up pics! Off topic...what kind of camera do you have? That's pretty funny about the ad!

Her eyes could be normal one miniute and huge the next and she would be falling apart. I would compare her eyes to her sisters and it would be amazing the difference in the same light! I have not seen them dialate since her larger dose of antibiotics started working. s
