Our new local DAN doctor has used peptide therapy (also called "Specially Sequenced Amino Acids (SSSA)") for her patients with autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease. She says she's seen amazing results for these patients. She sent our son's blood sample to experts in Spain who specialize in this treatment, and they're recommending it for his PANDAS. They have not specifically used it for PANDAS before but believe it could be quite effective.

Down side: this therapy is widely used in Europe but not yet accepted officially in the U.S., and no U.S. insurance companies cover it. So it will be out of pocket expense.

Has anyone heard of this before? Here's a few links I found about it:

Buster, sorry to bug you, but I'd be very interested in your opinion given your scientific background and all the research you've done already. (Of course, I value everyone's input on this forum: many of you have bailed us out on things in the past!)

Hi Worried Dad,

I haven't looked at that path but will now.

It might be worth a check with Dale, Church or Giovanni who are in the UK and probably more familiar with the treatment.

Thanks for the reference.

Buster
