peglem Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 I frequently troll clinicaltrials.gov to see if there are any going on that might be appropriate for my daughter. In doing so, I come upon completed trials that I would love to see the results of. So, does anybody know how to figure out what Pubmed papers go with which clinical trials. There is one right now- completed in 2008 on IVIG for childhood schizophrenia that looks interesting.
faith Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 peg, I don't know, but I bet 'kim' would. she's heavy into pubmed. maybe pm her if she doesn't see this post.
FallingApart Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 I saw this trial as well and was very upset to see it actually! I dodn't want there to be any connection with IVIG and scizophrenia. I showed it to our ped on Thurs and told her that I couldn't find results either. Is this the trial with 13 children? if not, I found one with 13 children done in 1997. Results not avail. The site said it had been updated around 2008. I, too, would love to see the results.

FallingApart Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 Thanks, Faith! I am waiting till she wakes up to make another judgement. But, I am thinking it is possible we might have seen some benefit. I will certainly post after the first time she is told no this morning. We are in Seattle (PST) so she is still asleep. Which is a good sign!!!!!

Here's the clinical trial I was talking about. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT0000...enia&rank=1 It was specifically for childhood onset psychiatric disorders, but that included schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a scary word, but it is just a label for outward symptoms...those symptoms are scary, no matter what you call them.

This study doesn't have any results listed, but at least now I know where to look for them!
