faith Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I can attest to it being hard to wean off zoloft. I take it at 50 mgs. since 2003, after a very bad panic/anxiety/depression over moving to a new house, it was that bad. I've never taken any meds before and I am in my forties. I have tried twice to go off. the first time I felt better, the doc told me to jus stop taking it (my gyno) and I crashed with heavy withdrawal and crying spells about 10 days later. I tried another time a couple years ago by weaning very very slowly, over a 6 month period. but with all that I am dealing with, there is always somethng to be depressed about, so as soon as I didn't feel strong again, I went back full time. btw, I have had no sice effects at all. it does seem to work quite well for me. ... but like I said, there is always something for me to be upset about.. So melanie, that is something to look out for. Faith
