pixiesmommy Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 I read in a blog of a mom with a PANDAS child that she avoids L. Thermopolis and I was wondering if anyone here also avoids it. Every yogurt in the supermarket (other than Kefir) had it today when I checked. Thoughts?
dee45 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Hi isn't that present in some probiotics as well?? Deanna
Suzan Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 I have heard that it does not affect strep but I try to keep it out of our probiotics. I have not been limiting yogurt but the kids aren't big into yogurt. Susan
pixiesmommy Posted August 28, 2009 Author Report Posted August 28, 2009 I mistyped. It's S. Thermopolis, but I don't know how to adjust the title. The S for Streptococcus. It's also spelled "Thermophilous" when I google.
thereishope Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Yoplait Thick and Creamy doesn't have it. I don't think Dannon Natural does either. I saw on the Food Network today that strep bacteria is added to sour cream to give it it's taste. Not sure if that's all brands or just the company they featured.
