ilovedogs
I was at the naturopath's office this AM b/c ds had a follow up visit and he inquired about my stingray sting. Apparently, he had a patient just 3 weeks ago come in with an infected stingray sting wound. The patient had not taken any prophylactic antibiotics and the wound had re-opened, etc. He told me to start using a charcoal poultice on my foot to help my wound heal. I did start antibiotics last week but I know the poultice couldn't hurt. For so long I have been taking charcoal for gas pain and stomach problems(it works wonders and I travel with it everywhere!) but I completely forgot that you can use it on the skin! So, I'll keep you all posted as to how the stingray sting is progressing and if I get a nice charcoal 'tattoo'! Here's a link to some charcoal information, the author describes the difference between adsorbtion and absorption and how charcoal works in the body. It really is amazing and I thought some of you might like to read it so you can use charcoal effectively in your home. http://www.natural-holistic-health.com/alt...vated-charcoal/ Have a great night! ilovedogs
Interesting re the charcoal Honey is also remarkable for healing infected wounds hope your wound heals quickly Thanks, Chemar! I didn't think of honey, either! I just wish I could walk on my foot better right now. It's really sore b/c the barb went in on the side of my foot right near the arch and it hit the bone. Those things go in deep! Bonnie
Chemar
Bonnie if you use the honey, soak a gauze pad in it and then adhere to the wound with an elastic bandage and leave all day then do a fresh honey auze dressing again next day etc till healed it also relives pain. I healed a badly infected cat bite wound with honey and we have successfully used it to speed healing of mouth ulcers etc too
