Pudgeo Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Has anyone ever used a Natural Allergy elimination technique?? My son has been doing HORRIBLE..we even stopped the HBOT! I knew somethng was up with him the last few weeks because he had really bad breath, very sweaty at night and a spot of impetigo on his face flared up again(also very spacey)..I also have been feeling that every supplement I give him is making him worse! So I took him to a place called Immune Matrix(in San Jose CA) My friend has gone there and it has helped her son(I am still skeptical) When she tested him he had major gut issues(she thinks there is still strep living in him) and she had me stop all supplements for now. Also he is now gluten/casein(dairy) free. She said he was really sensitive to alot of foods..She said basically all his supplements were going straight through him and going into his system unabsorbed. When she hooked him up to the computer he has problems with inflammation & his immune system(surprise!) So I am going back in 2 weeks to start allergy treatments..my friend calls her the Voodoo Dr but says it works..I must say we stopped everything Friday and my son is MUCH clearer today! P.S> I got official report back from Stanford. It said my son probably didn't have PANDAS because it is a tic disorder and usually there is a sudden onset of tics(we didn't get tics until later) then he stated that the IVIG did clear up the mild tics my son did have...hmmmm is that a contradition or what? Also he diagnosed my son with an auto-immune condition and mild encephalitis but it is too late to do a lumbar punch to find out the infectious agent. So I asked for a referral to a good Kaiser Neuro to go over these findings..My son has regressed so much and hardly made any progress at school this year.. sarah
faith Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Hi, Is NAET how they will treat the allergies? how did they determine that he was sensitive to the things, via muscle testing? how did she determine that he wasn't absorbing nutrients? and did she say to go off gluten/casein? was he consuming that before? my guess is that one or the other of these is a trigger for him? what issues was your friend's son treated for and how has it helped? I am in the beginning process of NAET with my son with ts and some comorbid issues. (not pandas) I just could not get a handle on al the things I felt he was sensitive to. I have had some success in eliminations, but with 9 year old, it was just getting more and more difficult to keep things out, he was always getting something. I cannot say I have seen anything beneficial yet, but I am going to keep it up. we've had a few treatments so far, b-complex, sugar, grains/gluten, with gluten being treated so far three times as he still was testing weak. I wouldn't mind keeping in touch and see how things go if you decide to persue this. I feel it is worth a try, especially if your child is still not doing well and food intolerances are a big part of this. How did you find this practitioner, are they on the NAET website? If you still have questions about NAET, try to read whatever you can about it, they do have a book called "Say Goodbye to Illness", you might be able to find it in a library. Faith
Pudgeo Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 THis NAET is all new to me....She took some of my sons blood and hooked him up to a computer and then it all starting spitting out in the computer. My friend took her son to the NAET to check supplements and she felt the NAET was correct everytime she identified a supplement that was bothering her son. My son has just been a wreck so I knew somethiing is really askew in his body..Thanks for the tips! Sarah

Each time they have an episode, it can be different - sometimes tics - sometimes not - but usually always some OCD and other anxiety issues. The behavior that they exhibit depends on which neurons are affected at the time of the episode (it kind of jumps around on the various receptor sites). The fact that the IVIG cleared the tics is further proof. Gaby's tics went away with the IVIG too & haven't returned, although her OCD is still there along with other things. Pat
colleenrn Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 My children's PANDAS began with OCD. The tics did not come until a few episodes into PANDAS. I think one reason PANDAS is so tricky is b/c our children have a wide range of presentations.
Pudgeo Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 I agree with you both....when that Dr wrote that I was laughing to myself that he really doesn't understand or know PANDAS!!! I just like that he wrote the IVIG cleared up the tics since Kaiser was fighting my Pedi on doing the IVIG.. Sarah
