lynnie1264 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Hi. I've read in a couple of places how some are saying how those magnetic pillows/ mattresses could help with tourettes? I'm wondering if anyone here has used them {maybe even for other reasons} and seen any difference either way? Thanks, Lyn
Chemar Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I am not aware of magnetic mattresses or pillows...my son has a cotton filled futon with woodframe....we eliminated his coil spring after learning of the negative effects of the metallic coils re electromagnetic fields while sleeping however, re magnets themselves...our acupuncture physician once gave my son tiny magnets to attach to earlobes (adhesive) and this helped very much when he had some very intense the ocd/tic blending. somehow pushing on the magnets seemed to calm him
lynnie1264 Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 Chemar, Thanks. I'm not sure if you have them there, but I'm referring to the pillows and mattresses that have magnetic discs sewn into them. I know they help alot of people with back pain, arthritis etc. People swear by them for those purposes. Wonder how they'd go with TS considering your son was advised magnets. Interesting. Might have to look into that a little more. Thanks again for your reply. You just never know what could help... Lyn.
