CSP
Hi Chemar, Could you please discribe how bad your son's waxing would be after natural treatments, and during different ages. My son does seem to be slowly getting worse, and I don't know if this is an increase do to the braces. I was hoping you could tell me were their times that you started to get scared again, and thought he would go back to how he was when he exploded. I'm really scared right now. I know he has about 8 adult teeth that need to come in, and he finally has slight B.O. under his arms. It the waxing is do to some kind of growth, I feel helpless until he gets through the growth period. Thanks for any help, CP
Chemar
Hi CSP sorry you are going thru this again altho my son's tics were definitely worst during his pubertal years, yet they have never been as bad as before we switched to natural treatments. Even at their worst waxing since then they would be on a 4-5 compared with the 10 back then as mentioned before teeth have always been a major trigger for my son.. we were advised against the braces for 2 reasons....firstly becasue of his teeth being an area that triggers tics for him and secondly because of the metal. His teeth grew out just fine without any orthodontics, but if it had been very necessary, ai would have gone with invisalign rather than the metal, which I know would have been a major tic trigger for my son, and I know others for whom it has been too hormonal changes and the growth spurts etc can be triggers CP so that could be contributing too. my son is now using a foot spa that has heating and reflexology style vibrating things in it and does the epsom that way and it really really really helps when he is in waxing mode
CSP
Thanks chemar, I wish we could have put this off too, but his teeth would not come downn they are pressing on the roots of the front teeth. Whatare braces made of? I thought it was steel, does that cause a problem? Does anyone know if the braces triggered tics and still waned even with the braces on? ilovedogs
Thanks chemar, I wish we could have put this off too, but his teeth would not come downn they are pressing on the roots of the front teeth. Whatare braces made of? I thought it was steel, does that cause a problem? Does anyone know if the braces triggered tics and still waned even with the braces on? CP I'd love to know that answer, too, b/c my ds is going to have the same problem with his teeth. Right now he's got a loose tooth and I noticed an increase in a neck/jaw tic since he told me the tooth is loose. But, he also has these steel space maintainers in, both top and bottom and his tics started 6 months after he got them put on. They basically have bands that go around the back teeth and have arch wires that connect along the roof of his mouth to the other side with a rubber(I think it's rubber) piece to protect the roof of his mouth. And, the one on the bottom just has a wire that runs behind his teeth from one molar to the other. I'm sorry you guys are having a tough waxing period right now! What does your dh say about all of it? Were his tics this severe when he was a child? I'm having a hard time, too, with ds's new neck tic as his whole neck seems to seize and jerks his head and jaw. Of course, it doesn't seem to bother him so why do I care so much??? ((((CP)))), God will see you through girl!
CSP
Thank you, Bonnie My DH is such a wonderful support. He understands our son so much more then I do. DH tics were not this bad, but he does remember making noises and doing them over and over until his parents said to stop. He said it was like, he would see how many he could get in. Our son said he does that too. My son's mouth is such a mess. On the upper level he only has the frist 4 front teeth he does not have any other adult teeth in until you get to the very last molar. GULP... and he will be 15 in 3 months. I don't even want to think about what his mouth is doing. The lower is a little better, he has the first front 6 teeth.
