I went through all your links. Thank You so much. I also watched the video of Anthony. Then I found myself on youtube watching all the videos of tourettes and tics. Even caught the one from the HBO documentary. Being that you said your son is diagnosed with tourettes can I ask you if thats what his tics look like.

I know all tics are different but the movement of them all is pretty much consistant as being the same.

Then I will ask if tourettes tics are the same as chronic tics or tic dis-orders.

I looked up videos on tic disorders as well. My concern is that my daughters jerking/tics (whatever I should now call it)

looks nothing like any of the videos I have seen. Her eye movement is different, her jerks in the body are almost like an electric bolt going through her (I am hoping you remember me always saying that)

Even her leg thing...always looked like someone kicked her. Very RAPID indeed. Now the head thing, its not like what I have watched tonight either.

Monday is taking forever to come.....

I wonder if some of the gals on here should post or send videos back and forth to compare? You think it would help some determine as to what exactly it is for sure.

I am not expecting anyone to diagnosis anyone but all the tics I have seen on the you tube are pretty much the same as far as the movement part. Its hard for me to explain what I am trying to say. I could very well be wrong here of course. Just remember a post when someone mentioned you could tell the difference between a tic from a tic disorder and a tic from tourettes.

I was always in the back of my mind leaning on a tourettes diagnosis. My thoughts went this way well after we passed the one year mark. I then got confused because I didn't hear any vocals. I thought I did but really did not know how to look for one until I did some reading and well of course watched the HBO Documentry. Just curious I guess about what the tics everyone talks about on here actually look like.

I am trying to tape something before Monday to take along with us. If I get this accomplished (my husband has to take it apart, won't hold charge)

then I am going to try and post it somewhere.

hope you got some good sleep!

 

it's so hard to verbally describe my son's tics, especially as now they are a lot different from when he was first dx and from before he started the natural treatments. Most times they are more "fluid", but he has had some that are rapid and jerky. Also, when his tics and OCD are interacting, those take on a different form again

 

however, as I mentioned in another post a while back, I do agree that TS tics seem to me to be different from other tics I have seen, although once again, TS tics are as different as the individuals who have them, and also are influenced by the level of suppression/substitution that the individual employs

 

Hoping you are just taking a break today and that tomorrow will bring clarity and direction for you.
