FUN THREAD

Recommended Posts

I grew up in a small town that had less than 800 people.

I love going to school. Except, I will be happy to get done with my geometry for elementary teachers class as it's my first geometry class I've ever taken and I'm not doing very well in it. I plan on taking 18 credit hours this summer so that I can student teach in the fall of 2009. I will be certified to teach K-9 special education and elementary education when I'm done student teaching.

I also love to travel. I've been to Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Florida, Georgia, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, Illinois, Montana, Wyoming, and Alabama. I'm planning on a trip to the Bahamas & Disney World this coming December. I'm hoping to go on an international mission trip some time.

My favorite TV station is Lifetime. I would be completely satisfied if you could order cable/satelite that only had the Lifetime channel on it. However, I don't have cable so my favorite online TV shows are Lincoln Heights and Kyle XY.

I love swimming, boating, tubing, and skiing in our Nebraska lakes, but dislike swimming in the ocean because of all the little creatures.

I like bowling, shopping, gymnastics, and spending time with my friends and family.

I love researching on my computer.

I have one 75 pound dog. I have 3 sisters and one niece.

That's all I can think of for now. Carolyn

Nan,

now that you got us all talking, maybe you could elaborate a little more about you, (only if you'd like, of course.) we'd love to hear more!

Also, how 'bout some of the dads?

Hi Faith,

Thank you for encouraging me to post more about myself. When I first started this thread, I wrote only a couple of points as I did not want people to think that they need to write long posts too; but I am soooo glad they did. Here is some more info..

I am a stay at home mom now for 2 years to 3 beautiful children ; was a software developer in my previous life; loved the job and am thinking of going back to work; wouldn't mind the extra money :P

I love reading about alternative remedies ; I am especially intrigued by alternative medicine that helps kids recover from autism; I don't have a child that is autistic, but my 6.5 year old has massive seasonal allergies and moderate tics; I do believe that all these are somehow connected; we were just not impacted as severely as the kids with autism have been. One of my best friends is helping her son recover from the spectrum and hearing her little successes and recovery stories every step of the way are one of the things that bring me the most happiness.

I am quite spiritual .

I am a sort of private person; would rather have a handful of good friends rather than 100s of acquaintances.

That is all I can think of to share..

Thanks to all who posted. I loved reading about everyone of you.
