myrose
Hello all, I have been searching for a good all natural mutivitamin for my daughter. I came across some info on the consumer lab reports page and just thought I would WARN anyone just in case they are giving these vitamins to their children or...knew of someone who was. They are called Lil Gummy Vites. They EXCEEDED the safe limit for LEAD and also they were found low in tolate. I can't even imagine to why there is lead or would be lead in ANY vitamin but apparently there is but supposely in SAFE limits???? I can't believe what I have been finding out through reading......I never knew any of this stuff. What is the matter with these companies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is the link if anyone is interested: http://www.consumersearch.com/www/family/m...ins/review.html

P_Mom
I was concerned after reading this about the Gummy Vites because that is the vitamin I give my kids. It is all natural and my kids love them. So, I e-mailed the company and got this response, it eased my concerns and I just wanted to share it with others in the event anyone used these vitamins too. It does make sense, they would not be allowed to stay in business if their vitamins indeed contained lead. Kelly Dear Kelly, Rest assured, there is no lead in our products. This is a rumor that was started years ago. The facts of the story are: Consumerlabs.com tested one bottle of product in 2003. We asked and paid them to retest our product and the test results showed there was no lead. This rumor continues to resurface occasionally, but I assure you it is nothing more than “urban legend”. There are federal regulations that prohibit lead contamination and we comply with those laws. If a company determines that their product is contaminated with lead they would not be allowed to stay in business. Our products are tested regularly for contaminants, including lead. I realize that this can be an alarming rumor to get wind of. However, I assure you that our quality services team is devoted to putting out a healthy and safe product for our consumers. I hope this eases your concerns. Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. Thank You, Soozie Caldera Customer Service
Chemar
thanks Kelly also that link above is to a site Consumers SEARCH reports sponsored by shopping.com and so there is vested interest in promoting some products over others. I think, based on the reply that Kelly has posted from the makers of Gummy Vites, I am going to edit the title some if you dont mind Jasminky, so this doesnt help perpetuate the rumor for this company

I am up until 3am everynight reading, reading and reading. I am just at the point where i have learned SO MUCH that I was completely unaware of that I am afraid I feel like a fool and wonder where I have been for the past 40 years of my life! It just kind of frightened and shocked me when I read it. I will try to validate next time before I run away with it.....I apologize
