cherylb
Hi. My name is Cheryl, I am 49 years old, and was given seroquel 50 mg for off label use for insomnia. Maybe it works better on kids for TS, but it was a nightmare for me, literally. After taking it for about 6 weeks, things changed dramatically. I started having Freddy Kruger type nightmares, like being asleep and awake at the same time nightmares (if you've had them, you know what I mean). I started feeling like a zombie, and I could hardly function. I couldn't think, couldn't remember stuff, literally sat at my computer with my mouth hanging open while I typed. I felt really drugged. Now for the really bad part. Seroquel is the only change in my life in the past few months. Recently I hurt my knee somehow and need arthroscopic surgery. Had preop testing, and on my EKG it showed signs of an old inferior infarct. (heart attack) Now my primary doc (who put me on that junk) got me in with a cardiologist for this thurs, and he wants a stress test asap. I too felt the dizziness, limp legs and my bp dropped, those are all "common" side effects of Seroquel. What I really want to find out is - has anyone else ever heard of cardiac side effects from Seroquel? I had a stress test in November 2005 that was "perfectly normal" according to the attending cardiologist. (I was in the hosp for a bad case of bronchitis, mentioned the words chest pain, which you have with bronchitis, and got a full cardiac workup) So if anyone can help me, please let me know. I have been off Seroquel for over 2 weeks, and have never felt better. Thanks, Cheryl
Chemar
Hi Cheryl just wanted to welcome you and say how pleased I am that you have comeout of the seroquel haze. My son was never on this med, but he did have nasty side effects from the ones he was on the emphasis here at ACN/Latitudes is more on non drug treatments so not sure how many here may have had experience with seroquel, but there is a medications forum on NeuroTalk where you may be able to get more info re the side effects on cardio hoping things just keep getting better for you all the best
