kim
Michelle, we had discussed testosterone/estrogen on another thread. I ran across this (I have been looking at all of these immune markers..trying to make heads or tails of all of it!) I wondered what your RA symptoms did during pregnancy? Were they supressed? The other thing I have come across recently was the relationship btwn strep and the onset of RA? Have you done any research on that? Did you have a history of repeat strep? http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=A...7b0cafa3743a7b3
michele
I used to get strep alot. Right before my RA came on like it hit me like a ton of bricks I had an urinary infection. That was five years ago. I had exercised alot prior to my pregnancy and did cardio training and step. My feet and my body were always sore and swollen. I contributed it to the weight lifting. I used to get up at 5 AM to go to cardio class. During prgnancy it was better but I still swelled a ton and was sore but it didn't ache as much. After pregnancy the hormones make everything worse and I relapsed. It is cold here and the weather makes it worse too. I definately could have got the ra after strep. It does run in my mom's family though. Now I have fibro really bad and ache all over constantly. The day to day stress of worrying about Andrew and taking care of four kids has made this much worse. I just stopped predisone because I am puffy and up five pounds. They gave me ultram for pain and muscle relaxers now. I feel like a thirty five year old in an eighty year olds body. Dr. Murphy said there is a high correlation between autoimmune trouble in offspring and parents with autoimmune disease. Now my first two were fine but I don't think I had it yet. Now I am very fearful about one year vaccines with my nine month old since I had autoimmune in pregnancy and Andrew's neuro problems beginning at age one. I will check out the link. Thanks.
