LordChallen Posted October 22, 2018 Report Posted October 22, 2018 I've read a little bit about this but wanted to narrow the focus a little. My DD recently developed tics, or chronic neck tension where she is constantly stretching her neck, trying to get the tension to release. Using some "pain eraser" techniques I can get the tension out for a little while. Usually, I do neck massage work just before she goes to sleep. But it becomes very distracting during her school time. Thinking of myself, I used to have this exact same thing from about age 9 - 30. Then it went away. I don't want it be that long it for her. Sometimes the tension would get extreme I could get intense headaches, resulting in vomiting, which would relieve all sorts of tension around the neck and head. Has anyone focused on this, and have they found remedies for it, and have they learned what causes it? No matter how much we physically relax the muscle, there is a brain signal that is constantly sending out an "intention." Thoughts, wisdom, ideas, prayers, welcome.
LordChallen Posted December 12, 2018 Author Report Posted December 12, 2018 Still wondering if anyone has gotten into and researched the body's physical reaction to PANDAS, as in the types of chronic muscle tensions.
bws1565 Posted December 12, 2018 Report Posted December 12, 2018 I am not sure about Pandas in relation to this, but Feldenkrais is a way of releasing muscle tension relating to brain signals. It is very gentle. Worth a try.
