powerofprayer Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Had anyone ever tried Cell Food as a supp? Just wondering how it is. It was suggested to me by my friend's father who performed a type of Biofeedback on my earlier this month. I say "a type of Biofeedback" b/c apparently it isn't really Biofeedback. The machine is called an Xrroid and when I googled it, the first hit that came up was quackwatch.org I shouldn't have read it cuz now I wonder if I just got scammed. It sounds pretty controversial. Anyway, after doing that, he suggested Cell Food and a product called Juva Cleanse for heavy metals. As well as a Fish Oil from a "deep ocean" source. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! Nadine
Chemar Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Hi Cell Food is excellent! I can personally vouch for that, as our whole family uses it as part of our regular nutritional health, and we know the difference when we dont take it I dont know of any specific benefit related to tics etc tho...rather just overall cellular health which of course in turn affects all health do remember that where fish oil is an excellent source of the essential Omega 3 needed, SOME people with TS and tics react to fishoil and do better with flaxseed oil I dont know that particular source of metal detoxer just a note on quackwatch.............if I paid heed do them my son would still be suffering as a drug-induced psychotic or worse !!!! there needs IMO to be a watch on them!! It is essential to be cautious, especially in alternative treatments, because there are sadly those who take advantage and push unproven or dodgy/expensive remedies BUT quackwatch is not a reliable source of information and I would look elsewhere to research stuff than there
powerofprayer Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 Thank you Chemar, for your opinion on the quackwatch website. Makes me feel better! After reading the Cell Food pamphlets, I thought MAYBE it would help with tics seeing it contains enzymes, amino acids, and minerals. The one I question though is tyrosine. Isn't that the one that will produce dopamine which TS patients DON'T need? Do you think there's enough of it in the Cell Food to give a detrimental effedt? I guess not though since you say your family uses it......I assume your son is too? What about the Tryptophan that's included in it? Would it still be safe to take 5-HTP since they are both precursors to serotonin? I haven't started taking either yet, just weighing my options. Speaking of options, what is the name of the metal detox you've used? Again Chemar, thank you, thank you for your endless wisdom and selflessness with your time! Nadine
Chemar Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 thanks for the kind words powerofprayer your user name really sums up why I volunteer my time here I saw the power of prayer first hand when, as a desperate mother, I was given a copy of Latitudes magazine. I had been praying for God to help me find a way to help my son without having to use the prescription meds that I could see were harming him. Cell Food is formulated in such a way that it is tiny doses of essential cell nutrients. Where the individual substances at physiological doses may have one form of action, it seems to me that the way they are formulated in Cell Food brings about a more holistically balanced cell nutrition we certainly have not noticed any adverse effect on my son's tics, but, as mentioned before, I also have not seen any direct beneficial effect on the tics either...rather just an overall health boost. Cell Food was recommended for me when I was detoxing from pesticide poisoning in the late 90s, and again for my son when he was dx with Crohn's we now all use it along with our multi and omega EFAs every day
