janey
Hello All, I'm new to this forum. I have an 8 year old son who has had various tics since the age of 5. The tics last for a month or two then go away for 6months to a year. He initially started with eye blinking, then throat clearing. Lately he developed a nose twitch. I'd like to start him on the natural supplements that have been recommended. My question is how much Taurine should I give him? He weighs about 55 lbs. I also know that TV watching and Game boy makes the tics much worse. I would love to totally eliminate them all together, but I know that I have to let him have a little fun. Has any one had this experience with electronics and also how many hours per day do you let them play? Thank you to everyone who takes their time to reply!!! Chemar
hi Janey just wanted to answer here for the record, even tho I did answer in PM too 500mg/day Taurine is the usual adult dose and so half that is generally recommended for someone under 12yo/100lbs remember that giving magnesium with the taurine is important re the electronics...if you do a search here for "screens" and user name "Claire" you will find a wealth of info HTH
janey
Dear Chemar, Thanks for your reply again. I'm having trouble finding ONE product that would contain all the ingredients. Currently he's taking Natural Calm. Is it okay to buy the Taurine and add it to the drink? Is there a manufacturer that makes an all inclusive product? I know that Bonnie's products have that, but I just don't know how I can give him all those pills. I was hoping to make my own concoction that would work for him. Thank you again for all your input.
