Mucoid Plaque

Recently learnt about mucoid plaque, a buildup of trash on the colon wall, that would prevent proper healing, and can even cause psychiatric trouble. Seems to me that some family members of mine might be dealing with this.  Does anybody have any ideas how to correct this?  I learnt about apple cider vinegar, but am looking for more information.

To me, mucoid plaque sounds suspicious - like a term that is made up by folks that want to sell you a cleanse.  A bit of googling confirms that this one is controversial - debated as being quackery.  If I wanted to consider this, I'd be looking at the most reputable sites I can find to see if its a real thing.
