powerofprayer
Thank you. You are very informative. His hair analysis showed he was very low in calcium so I feel like I should continue with that. I will think about changing to citrate. Which test do you get your boys tested on to determine their vitamin needs? We have done the hair analysis, but was thinking that did not cover everything such as efa's. Also, he is not taking a probiotic and I was concerned about yeast while he is on the amox. Should I be supplementing or is amox one that is ok without a probiotic? One last question, when he is finished with the amox. what tests should I request to make sure strep and bladder infection are both clear. His doctor will probably just do swab and urine and I was wondering if I should request ASO titer tests again to make sure they are in the normal range and if they are not does that mean I should request more antibiotics? Thanks to anyone that could reply to any of these questions-it can be confusing. I am happy I can FINALLY reply to something and can be of assistance (hopefully) I always feel "guilty" for soooo many questions and never contributing suggestions.......hopefully one day, with more experience, I can do that more often. Anyway, Bmom, my youngest daughter (2 yo) recently was on amox for an ear infection. her ped DID say a probiotic would be a good idea. Hope i've helped you a bit anyway. Chemar
all antibiotics deplete the natural gut flora and so a probiotic should always be used, 3 hours after the antibiotic Spectracell testing is the best I know of to determine which supps are needed I would recommend testing strep titres again and if they are still high, request azithromycin (zithromax)
bmom
Ok thank you. I just feel like I am asking so many questions lately that I am thankful that everyone is helpful and giving advice. Chemar- sorry for being so technical, but they have him taking the amox. 3 times daily. Do I give him probiotics 3 times daily as well? The pill form I bought says adults take 2 daily. I could break in half, but I would be giving him one an hour before the next dose of amox. Is that ok?
