Tics...Help please! Need a doctor in NC

My son has started off with eye blinking when he was 3 and has done this every year until this one. He is 10 years old and is now jerking his head. We have been to neurologists who have said there is not anything we can do. I found this group after looking for answers and saw the book for Natural Treatments for Tics and Tourette's and spent 3 days reading it cover to cover while flagging numerous pages. I would like to have testing done and would love to find a doctor in NC but my pediatrician refers me to neurologists that tell me there is nothing to do in terms of tests, supplements, diet etc. I have hope after reading this book and am so grateful I found it. Can anyone refer a doctor in NC that is knowledgable with tics and Tourette's? Thank you!

In the meantime, may I suggest you Google the terms environmental or Integrative doctor in North Carolina and see what comes up. Also DAN doctors can be helpful.

Hi Klynn,

I am also looking for doctors in NC. I found the Natural Treatments book to be very helpful as well. My daughter is going to see a developmental pediatrician at Duke in a couple of weeks, although I'm expecting that to be the first stop on our journey. I know that Dr. Taylor at Triangle ENT is an environmental allergist and I anticipate taking my daughter there in the near future. I hope there are other folks out there who can give us both some more advice, as I would dearly appreciate it. I know my daughter feels very isolated and I have found almost nothing in the way of support groups in our area. I refuse to be discouraged and continue to look, though. Hope this helps.
