trintiybella
I think I may have asked this question before but can't seem to find it when I do a search. Sorry.\ Can you tell me if your child has had a bad reaction to Mag. Citrate?
rowingmom
We use magnesium citrate with no problem, although I find citric acid to be a bit of an energiser myself. Our LLMD always recommended we use magnesium taurate, although now we supplement both mag citrate and taurine.
tj21
ds15 has taken 2 pills at night (total 400mg.) since March 2014. He hasn't had any issues that I can correlate to it and it's helped a lot w/his constipation and therefore detoxing issues. Plenty of other triggers exist for him though... EAMom
I've recently started taking Magnesium Glycinate myself. I've been listening to some of these podcasts (not PANDAS, but nutrition) and that's what they recommend. They have some topics (mood, depression, ADHD, etc) that might be of interest to PANDAS parents. They also have some shows on Gluten. You can also download shows on iTunes.http://www.weightandwellness.com/radio-show/search-for-previous-radio-shows/ More on Magnesium and the different types http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/12/17/magnesium-benefits.aspx Edited October 18, 2014 by eamom T_Anna
Mayzoo
Kiddo has been taking magnesium glycinate for a while with no issues. For various reasons, we switched to ionic magnesium (magnesium chloride). I gave her 1/2 what she had been taking of the glycinate, and she had a flare type reaction. Come to find out, magnesium is used for detoxing and pulls toxins out of the tissues (if I recall correctly). So maybe your kiddo was having a toxin overload like mine did? Mine settled back down after 18 hours of no magnesium. " Magnesium Chloride Benefits Posted by Dr Sircus on December 27, 2012 | Filed under Magnesium, Medicine For purposes of cellular detoxification and tissue purification, the most effective form of magnesium is magnesium chloride, which has a strong excretory effect on toxins and stagnant energies stuck in the tissues of the body, drawing them out through the pores of the skin." http://drsircus.com/medicine/magnesium/magnesium-chloride-benefits Hope your kiddo is doing better.
